Xbox One controller on Surface RT

My searching has given me no info, maybe that's got more to do with my searching than anything, but will my Xbox One controller work with my Surface RT if i plug it in? I keep meaning to actually test it myself, but life, or actual Xbox One games always
get in the way.

Pairing Xbox One

Hello,

1- How do I pair Xbox One with Surface RT? I heard (seen) you can stream audio and video from Surface on Xbox via Device menu.

2- How do I pair Xbox One controller with Surface RT? So I can play surface games with Xbox one controller.

Smartglass will not connect on any of my Windows 8.1 devices

I also cannot connect either mu surface or my windows 8.1 phone using smartglass for Xbox one. It basically does not see my Xbox one. This happens on my phone and my surface 2 rt

I got around to trying it last night, it's a no go, just shows up as an unsupported controller. I also tried my 360 controller plugged in with the play and charge cable, it was recognized, but didn't do anything.

For the Xbox One controller to work on Windows RT there has to be a driver made for it. At the moment, I don't believe there is so you can't use an Xbox One controller.

As for your Xbox 360 controller, it's wireless. It will remain wireless even if you use the play and charge. Unlike the Xbox One controller, the 360 wireless controller can't be made wired by using a play and charge. If you want to use an Xbox 360 controller
on a Surface RT, it needs to be a wired one.

Have the same problem with the Surface RT Xbox One app. Will try a reinstall, although not a great fix.

Try changing your Xbox one network name it's in settings I had the same problem and that work I have a surface rt
