Xbox one controller not working with headsets

    Xbox one controller not working with headsets


    I have got an xbox one console, and until now i have had no problems with it. I recently bought a new controller so now i have one new and one old xbox one controller. I was using my old controller and i plugged my turtle beach headset in, but it didn’t
    work and the xbox didn’t say i had a headset or mic so i bought a new turtle beach headset, thinking that the old one was broken. I tried the new one in the same controller and i had the same problem. Upon plugging both headsets into the newer controller i
    realised that both headsets worked and that the old xbox one controller was the issue. So now i have 2 headsets that only work when plugged into one of my controllers. I have tried everything that i have seen online and on this forum, but my headsets still
    won’t work with my old xbox one controller. I have never had a problem like this before and the older controller has always worked well and with the headset. Can you help?

    I recommend taking a look at the following troubleshooting articles:




    If the problem persists:

    • Try your Headset with another device, such as a laptop, to see if the headset is working.
    • Try using a Headset Adapter for compatibility issues.
    • Try your Headset on another controller, if you can. If the headset works on the second controller, try
      updating the first controlleragain.

    Try this out and let us know the results.

    Can I use USB Headset on the Xbox one

    USB headsets do not work with Xbox One. The only ones that will work are ones that use a 3.5mm jack with the controller or one of their (Xbox) certified headsets.
