    just wondering why i cant connect my xbox one controller to my pc (windows 7 pro),

    when i plug it in it says looking for driver in windows update. but it never works

    Have updated my windows 7, checked that controller is working on another system -OK , windows sees it but controller does not light, or vibrate. Windows device manager says that it is working and drivers installed. Need Help

    Xbox one wireless adapter for windows 7

    I'm having the same issue on Windows 7 Ultimate. I uninstalled and re-installed the drivers twice already. The controller is detected on the test page under Devices and Printers>Game Controller Settings but not in-game unless I use a direct wired connection.
    On Windows 10 Pro, however, I don't have any issues with the wireless adapter. I spent a lot of money on these controllers and I am already thinking about returning them, because I have had a lot of hassles on Windows 7(with the drivers not downloading after
    hours of searching and not working when it finally did download the drivers).

    As Windows 7 is not fully compatible with the controller you may run into issues even with the drivers installed.
    Well so far the controller works (all buttons register). Of course, I first had to connect it to my Windows 10 laptop (Surface Pro 4) to configure it via the Xbox accessories app.
