Xbox One Controller Not Working on Windows 10

Controller was working fine, problem isn't with the port or the cable, the controller vibrates over and over and lights up when plugged in, it is also recognized by device manager, but the controller doesn't work, nor is it recognized by games I try to play it with. When I check its properties in device manager, I receive this: "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)



To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."
The controller is plugged in and the connected noise of the computer plays when it gets plugged in, but it will randomly make the disconnect noise/the controller will act as if it is not connected. I have never put batteries into the controller and have mainly only used it wired with the cable it came with, though I know the cable is not the problem.
