I appreciate your response. I got the accessories app, but the controller is still acting up. It scrolls really fast and still does all of the same problems.

just curious if you had by chance downloaded/installed the Xbox accessories app on a computer? this app is essential for downloading/installing any controller updates available for your model controller (including any possible bug fixes that they have been notified of weather it be general system related or specific game operation issues that arise as games are released post-release of your controller model) please note that your controller must be attached to the computer via USB-C cable for these updates to be installed to your controller if there are any available and not already updated to your controller previously. usually resolves any issues i had experienced with my wireless Xbox series x/s controller. hope this is helpful, happy gaming! (also ensure your controller is at its peak performance by frequently using the Xbox Accessories app in case of any future updates have become available!)

Apologies but you are not understanding me.

The scenario goes like this:

Purchased xbox series controller;

Connected and updated series controller on laptop;

Attempted to play a game on laptop;

Controller input is not present;

In some games the controller doesn't appear in the setup;

In some games the controller registers but the inputs are incorrect, sometimes the z-axis registers as a button (x button) and not a movement;

Connected controller to tablet and mobile phone and controller input is fine;

Is the problem my games or my controller firmware not syncing with the games?

Is there a fix?

An Xbox One controller will work perfectly and you can just plug it in via USB.

However it should be noted that not all PC games support controllers so it may still not work in certain games.
