Xbox One Controller Not Updating.

Tried to update Xbox One controller with the new March Titanfall/Stereo Headset update. Plugged in the headset adaptor and started update but had an error message show up when I tried to update it. Tried another microUSB cable I had and bought a new cable
which didn't work either. Controller powers up using only cable (no batteries inside) but always brings up an error when I try to update it. Any ideas?

Bricked Xbox One Controller

While updating the xbox one controller's firmware, it errored out. Now the controller will not respond or power one.

Xbox one controller not updating

I am having an issue with my Xbox one controller after it is saying it requires an update, which I assume is to use a headset with it. The update begins and then remains on "Updating Controller" and is stuck on 100%.

I have tried a hard reboot and tried several different USB cables and none of it has worked, all remaining on 100%, is there anyway to fix this?

hello there,

You will need to have the batteries or battery pack installed on the controller when you try to update it. I know the manual says to have them unplugged, but you will need them plugged in. Try that, let us know if that works for you..

I tried it both ways and also with individual AA's with no luck

About updating controller, To use the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter with your Xbox One Console, you’ll need to update your Xbox One Controller with the latest software to support the Adapter.

So Titanfall controller update is done by over air, no cable, (February update) and Stereo Headset Adapter controller update you need an cable, which comes with the adapter (March update).

Update XBox controller support has steps to update the controller firmware.

It did not say "Start update" or the update is available for xbox one controller.

To ease this is a problem with the controller but there is a controller update coming to Xbox one. But first make sure you goto to settings Device & accessories and sign the controller to someone and click on update controller to the Xbox one. then accept
the new update to fix this.
