    Xbox one controller not updating


    I am having an issue with my Xbox one controller after it is saying it requires an update, which I assume is to use a headset with it. The update begins and then remains on "Updating Controller" and is stuck on 100%.

    I have tried a hard reboot and tried several different USB cables and none of it has worked, all remaining on 100%, is there anyway to fix this?

    yep, followed step by step multiple times. and i am indeed connected to xb live when i try. it gives me a screen that says controller wont update. and there is a big green exclamation point but i dont see an error code at all. would that code come up on
    the error screen itself or is it something i would have to look up elsewhere?

    Can you try on a windows 10 PC via the xbox accessories app from the Microsoft store? You will need USB for this.

    Okay, I updated the controller on a windows 10 PC and now everytime I try to use the controller it keeps going over to the furthest section on the dashboard, as if one of the buttons are stuck moving it to the right. However this has only happened since
    the update and I have checked if any buttons are stuck and they are not. Anyone know how to fix this?

    If this isn't "stick drift", which is a sign to get a new controller, please turn the console off and unplug it for 30 seconds and see if you still have the moving without you doing it.

    If so, you'll need a new controller.

    The warranty is 90 days in USA/Canada and 1 year in the EU. Out of warranty is the same price as a new one.

    That's awesome that you were able to update your controller using your Windows 10 device. Now if the joystick is "ghosting", or reacting as though it is being pressed when there is no one pressing it you may want to have support contact you by reaching out

    About updating controller, To use the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter with your Xbox One Console, you’ll need to update your Xbox One Controller with the latest software to support the Adapter.

    So Titanfall controller update is done by over air, no cable, (February update) and Stereo Headset Adapter controller update you need an cable, which comes with the adapter (March update).

    It did not say "Start update" or the update is available for xbox one controller.

    To ease this is a problem with the controller but there is a controller update coming to Xbox one. But first make sure you goto to settings Device & accessories and sign the controller to someone and click on update controller to the Xbox one. then accept
    the new update to fix this.
