Xbox One Controller Not Turning On

Hello fellow gamers. I have the camo xbox one controller, the one for sale from Microsoft, not a third party. A few days ago while in the middle of playing madden I nocticed that my controller would turn off when it vibrated. Usually it would turn back on,
but now it won't. When I hold down the button to turn it on, the light glows faintly (this can only be seen if it is dark in the room). I have done the usual steps, tried plugging it in via micro usb, using new batteries, reconmecfing it to the console, and
power cycling the Xbox. Any help would be appreciated!

I think I have found the answer to your problem. I honestly thought it wouldn't work, but this did perfectly for me. Hopefully this will work for you and everyone who's having this problem.

1. Plug in your controller to your Xbox One via cable.

2. As the controller is turned on, hold the Xbox button and turn the controller off, not the console.

3. Have your Kinect plugged in and turned on and face it to your controller.

4. Turn on your controller and hold the controller sync button.

This should work for you as it worked for me. If not, try it this way with an added step:

1. Plug in your controller to your Xbox One via cable.

2. As the controller is turned on, hold the Xbox button and turn the controller off, not the console.

3. Have your Kinect plugged in and turned on and face it to your controller.

4. Press the sync button on the left-side of your Xbox One console.

5. Turn on your controller and hold the controller sync button, facing the controller towards your system and Kinect.

It's just the beta box having system issues.

Or, If the controller might have been bricked and you have an Xbox One, you can try this method that has worked for some people including me:

- Power down the Xbox One by holding the power-button down for 7 seconds (Until it powers off)

- Unplug the Xbox One power-brick from the wall for 5 minutes, to be sure there everything is 100% discharged.

- Plug the controller into one of the Xbox One USB ports. (preferably one of the back USB ports). Make sure nothing else is plugged in.

- Try to turn on the Xbox using the controller's button. If it doesn't work, turn on the Xbox One using the console's power button.

- While the Xbox One is booting up, try to turn on the controller by pressing the controller's Xbox button. (I tried about every 2 seconds)

The controller turned on after I hit the Xbox button the 3rd time for me while the console was booting up. If it turns on and works, head to the Xbox Accessories app on the console and it should be on the latest controller firmware.

For now, why not just turn off the Xbox at the wall, then sync your controller to your PC, then turn the Xbox back on at the wall. That way you wont turn the Xbox One on when syncing the controller to the PC.
