Xbox One controller not recognized by windows 10.

My Windows 10 OS has all necessary drivers to run the Xbox one controller, but is unable to detect it whatsoever. It does not trigger any auto-play function, device installation, or even add an entry to device manager.

I am using a data/power cable, the same that my brother uses successfully on his computer.

I have also tried two other data/power cables.

I have attempted every USB port.

:: Other controllers, such as the PS3 or generic PC controllers, are recognizable by my OS.

I would attempt to uninstall and reinstall the drivers, but they no longer appear to be available for manual installation. Every link I've been given thus far to do so has been obsolete since the anniversary update, and Windows Update itself does not allow
me to check for select drivers, but simply assures me that I have everything—despite that this appears not to be the case.

Controller don't work anymore after a firmware update

Hello,

a few days ago I made a firmware update for my Xbox One Controller with the Xbox Accessor App for Windows 10. Since then the controller connect with the wireless Adapter for USB but will not recognized by Windows. When I connect the controller with the USB cable
it will recognized but the analog sticks and the two anlog shoulder triggers wont work

Xbox app streaming not (any longer) supports two controllers ?

I am connecting two Xbox one wireless controllers through an Xbox Wireless Adapter to a Windows 10 PC, and always playing my Xbox one console games on Win 10 by streaming, and those all went right and smooth, until the recent updates.

Now, with the latest updates of both the Xbox one console firmware ( 10.0.15063.3054/rs2_release_xbox_1705.170512-1759 ) and the Xbox App ( 29.29.17002.00000 ), only one ( the first working one when streaming starts ) controller is usable in streaming. No
matter in the home page or in game, only one controller is recognized by the console.

The two controllers are the original first gen Xbox one controllers (without 3.5mm jacks), both individually properly recognized by Windows 10 ( Win 10 Pro 1703/15063.296 ) and works well, even inside the Xbox app itself, except streaming.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried a different Xbox one controller?

If it works with a different Xbox One controller I would begin to expect the controller as the problem.

You shouldn't need to click the connect button on the controller, just plugging it in via USB should be enough to recognize it by the computer and be able to update through the Accessories app.

As I mentioned before, the app doesn't recognize the control ... The control doesn't even turn on anymore ... Only windows recognizes as "update controller". I would need a way to reinstall the controller
firmware ...

Summary: I fixed it by plugging USB cable into a controller and pc, win 10 recognized it, system restart was required and after that controller was working wirelessly also.

Longer description: I installed fresh windows 10, downloaded and installed all win updates, then I tried all these steps and at the end controller started working.

1) plugged wireless adapter into USB windows 10 recognized it but Xbox one controller won't connect (keep on blinking)

2) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port but Xbox one controller won't connect (keep on blinking)

3) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port started task manager removed Xbox one adapter, windows found it again but still noting (gamepad keep on blinking)

4) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port (front) started task manager removed Xbox one adapter and Xbox drivers, windows found it again installed it but still noting (gamepad keep on blinking)

5) FINALLY, I fixed it by plugging USB cable into a controller and pc, win 10 recognized it, system restart was required and after that controller was working wirelessly also.

The original XBox Elite controller requires the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 so without that adapter it will not be recognized properly by Windows. The newer, Elite Series 2 can connect to a Windows 10 PC without the need of an adapter.
