    Hello,

    So, I have an odd situation. My Xbox one controller won't connect wirelessly to the adapter, but I can connect wired to my PC. It worked wirelessly for months, then suddenly stopped working. I have done all the troubleshooting suggestions from the Microsoft
    troubleshooting guide for the Xbox one controller and the Xbox wireless adapter; issue still stands. I connected the adapter to a laptop and the controller connects wirelessly, so there doesn't seem to be an issue with the devices themselves; just something
    on my PC causing the issue. Any suggestions on why this issue is occurring on my PC but works perfectly fine on the laptop.

    As far as I know, you can´t connect the controller to the pc directly via Bluetooth. The only way you can connect it to your pc is buying a wireless adapter which is sold with some controllers. Here

    After extensive testing with a new Xbox One controller I recently purchased (This model:

    support.xbox.com/.../connect-xbox-one-controller-to-pc     ) explains with images down the page that certain Xbox controllers have Bluetooth support while others do not. While my controllers does match the one with Support in the image, I have figured that
    only the new Xbox One S controllers have Bluetooth support (Listed in description:

    www.xbox.com/.../xbox-wireless-controller     ), despite the image shown. The best way to connect non-Bluetooth controllers is to use the Windows wireless adapter (

    www.xbox.com/.../windows-wireless-adapter     ) the adapter has benefits over Bluetooth, like being able to use your headsets, or connect multiple controllers, while connection through Bluetooth only allows for one controller at a time.

    You confused me when you said WI-FI. As WI-FI is usually in reference to a wireless connection to your modem suppling an internet connection to a given device. Not a short way of saying wireless. But yes, there are 3 options, Wired, Bluetooth, and wireless.

    Any wireless Xbox One controller will pair with the
    Wireless adapter    .

    I use the Xbox One Elite controller on my Xbox One X, and I can not go back to a standard controller for most games.
