    Hello,

    So just this evening my controller no longer connects to my PC; I do not receive a notification and my controller does not wake itself up automatically as it usually does when it's been connected but instead it remains off as if I had never plugged it in in the first place.

    I have tried a range of solutions but received no luck: I tried multiple cables and usb ports. I even tried plugging the same usb into my phone and it actually worked but not with my controller. To test whether the controller itself was the problem, I also put batteries in it and it would turn on however, I do not have a bluetooth adapter for my PC so this is not a viable solution.

    Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that the issue persists with the usb port in my controller although after inspecting it and giving it a clean there does not seem to be a dust blockage inhibiting its use so I've really drawn a blank here - I've got no clue on how to solve this and I'm beginning to think I may have to purchase a replacement, begrudgingly as they are pretty expensive.

    XBox controller disconnects from PC or stops responding

    Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

    Connect with a USB cable

    Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

    Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

    The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

    Connect via Bluetooth

    Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
    Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

    Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

    The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

    Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."

    yes you connect Xbox one controller to a Pc, wirelessly or cable, but to play xbox games on ur PC you need to connect controller via micro usb cable.

    Yes, no signs of life whether the controller is untethered, connected to a charger via USB or connected to the PC via USB.

    The Xbox One controller uses a different signal than that of the Xbox360 controller, you can however connect a Micro-USB cable from your controller to your PC after installing the drivers for the Xbox One controller.

    (Windowsphones and Android phones usually use a microUSB which you can also use for your controller)

    Just remember to take out your batteries before connecting it via USB

    If possible, try connecting via bluetooth. Also, do you have an Xbox One or just a pc? If you have the Xbox One, connect the chat pad to the controller, wire into the Xbox via USB and update the controller via the settings>>>Accessories menus. That should
    do the trick!
