Xbox One Controller No Longer Reconnects

Hey All,

I've been hunting and trying a few things for some time on this issue, but so far nothing has seemed to have done the trick. A week or so ago, as I was playing Smite for Xbox, my controller disconnected mid game. Assuming it was a battery issue, I put in
new batteries and turned the controller back on. It blinked as if it was no longer connected to the console. I tried to resync it to the console (holding down the top sync button on the top of the controller and pressing the side sync button on the console)
but sadly this didn't reconnect it. So since then I"ve tried the following:

- Plugged the controller into the xbox. Console recognized the controller for about 5-10 seconds, then no input from the controller propagated to the screen after that.

- Tried different micro-usb cables (same ones I use to charge my cell phones at night), all reproduced the same issue

- Checked for controller updates while controller was plugged in, there were none. Although I did see that after the 5-10 seconds of initial plugin, my controller disappeared from the screen

- Recently upgraded my home PC to Windows 10, so using the three micro-usb cords I tested on the xbox, I was able to successfully use the Xbox via streaming with the same controller and cords for minutes to hours at a time without the slightest issue from
it.

- While the controller was plugged into the xbox, I hard reset the xbox one in hopes of having it recognize the plugged in cable. No luck there.

- Attempted to wirelessly sync the controller to the Kinnect.

- Replaced batteries with newly purchased batteries (instead of ones laying around)

- Read a few things that there could be interference from other devices in the household. The only electronic device near the xbox that runs is the TV & AT&T router. I turned both devices completely off & attempted the various wireless syncs again with no
luck. (I"ve had this living room setup for about a year now without issues, didn't think this would cause the issue but figured it was worth a shot)

++ I have NOT tried connecting another controller to the xbox one, but am planning on borrowing one from a coworker on Monday to test

Basically, I don't believe it's the controller as I was able to test for hours at a time streaming my Xbox to my Windows 10 computer. That's not to say that there could be something going on with the wireless connection, but it should still work with a wired
connection I would think. This is the first I've seen of this, any help would be much appreciated! I'll let you guys know how my second controller testing goes on Monday... it's just odd.

Xbox one controller wireless adapter cannot be waked, random disconnects, driver error.

I have an Xbox one controller adapter which has started disconnecting from the controller the past few days. Also, the controller can no longer wake the device. The only way to make it work is to physically remove it and reconnect it. If I looks in connected
devices it says "driver error" but no specifications. I've removed and reinstalled the drivers several times and remade the device wakeable by the controller but the problem persists. It worked fine for at least four months before this started.

 

Having the same issue after last night both of my controllers are doing this gonna take my white Xbox back to ebagmes not very happy MS support said they would replace it but with a black one so see what EB can do and if I can get it back under warranty
and put it towards the Forza 6 bundle console as its for sure not my controllers becuase I've used them on my mates Xbox one which hasn't had the latest update also with my issue it happen mid game Forza 5 and froze the game and the console now all of my controllers
will not connect to my Xbox one unless via the USB I've done all of the troubleshooting even with the MS Support no luck so yeah XBOX needs to do something about this and fast!

 

This has been going on since one of the updates around the release of Elder Scrolls Online. It has been getting worse. Something messed up the wifi adapter because this is happening to all wireless controllers. I can understand an issue happening with one
controller, but there is no way that all 6 of my controllers would constantly disconnect during gameplay unless it was an issue with a cheap wifi adapter in the console or they changed something with an update. It's ridiculous. Sadly, they don't even have
a decent wired controller option with a headset port. Mini USB although universal, is not a valid option when using the controller wired.

 

This started the other night for me too. For the last few months I have been getting the random controller disconnect in the middle of a game problem like a lot of others are complaining about. Previously when this happened, the controller would reconnect
and I would go on with my life. I'd say about a month ago the same behavior you are describing also started to happen - you power on the controller and won't connect. I've had it happen to just one controller but sometimes it happens with both controllers
so I know it isn't a controller or interference issue.Since it doesn't always effect just one controller or both of them, it has so be something on the console itself.

The only "fix" is to hard reboot the xbox. This seems to clear the behavior up for a while but it will come back. The fact that a reboot resolves the problem but it comes back indicates there is some sort of memory leak or driver issue in the OS. I am hoping
that the next update or the eventual update to the WIndows 10 kernel will resolve this once and for all. I should also note that my son's xbox started doing the same thing a week ago and the hard reboot trick fixed it.
