Xbox One Controller No Audio Through Headphone Jack & Chatpad!

To clarify first, THE HEADPHONE JACK ON THE CONTROLLER IS WORKING.

I tested it on my PC and it worked fine.

However, connected to my Xbox One I receive nothing from it. I have tried a chatpad, to no avail, and I receive nothing through the controller's headphone jack either.

I have two controllers, a white one and a black one. The white one has no issues with this. It receives audio just fine through both the headphone jack and the chatpad. The black one, however, does not.

I have tried:

Hard restarting the console

Unplugging and replugging the chatpad & headphones on the controllers

Checking volume levels

Updating the firmware on both controllers (& chatpad)

Unparing both controllers and pairing only the black one

Connecting both to a PC (again, no problems here!)

None of this worked. Am I missing something? As far as I can tell the settings are exactly the same on both controllers.

Any help appreciated.

they are the same as the standard xbox one s controllers, so with pc you can use via bluetooth(audio through headphone jack not supported)

or wired(supports audio via headphone jack)

Hi Ollie,

Based on your description of the issue, the problem may lie with the black controller's internal hardware or firmware.

It's very odd that only the black one is not working on the Xbox One even after doing everything you've listed. To be honest, I would say it is the audio jack in the controller but you've stated it works when connecting to your PC and it also doesn't even
work through the chat pad, which is the workaround like using the Xbox One stereo headset adapter.

Apologies but all I can recommend at this point is to replace the controller or just use your white controller because you've done all of the troubleshooting that I think is possible for this situation.

Thanks for your post! If you haven't attempted already, try a Soft Factory Reset. This should correct any software issues preventing
the controller and chatpad from working properly with your console.

hi federico i had same problem on 2 xbox one controllers no sound coming through headsets.go into audio settings and find headphone chat mix sliderif not there its a problem with the headphone jack port.i sent 2 controllers back 2 microsoft for exchange
because of this fault with the jack port. hope this helps.
