    Xbox One controller needs improvement

I was surprised to find that for me the xbox one controller was a step back from the 360 controller. The biggest issue I have with it are the sticks. They are too loose for precise movement and find the smaller sticks to be a drawback. The 'rim' around
the edge is bothersome to me as I play my with my thumbs on the edges and not the middle of the stick, for this reason the sticks feel odd and do not allow for comfortable movement.

Being a follower of competitive cod, many pros I hear change out their 360 controllers every few months to deal with the loosening of the sticks that naturally happens over time. With the xbox one, start with the loosest sticks ever which doesn't help precise
control. The xbox one is touted as being geared towards the hardcore gaming audience but the controllers don't convey that. At least offer the option of purchasing tighter sticks as avid gamers may have different preferences and one configuration does not
    suit all.

I've gone as far as trying to replace the xb1 sticks with the sticks of my 360 but they do not work. Xbox One controller needs improvement :(

Additionally, but of less importance, aesthetically the controller is nice but has a cheap feel to it and does not feel like a sold, well built product like the 360 controller does. The niche hardcore gamer wants quality and this system and controller seem
like the designers were confused between trying to appeal the mass living room crowd and kids and the avid gamer.

The system obviously needs a lot more improvement to the user interface/home screen as finding things as simple as where to redeem an xbox card (points/downloads/gift cards) is hard to do. This are not in well arranged places like the 360 menus were.

Anyway, my biggest gripe is the controller and the one place I would like to see improvement or at least options because it is how I interact with the system primarily. My system is plugged into a 24 inch, low input lag monitor. I could care less about
interacting with kinect. Microsoflt is losing sight of this and headed more in the direction of weee. If they don't get a grip on this, competition from others such as the system being developed by Steam which are geared towards the hardcore gaming audience
will overrun the xbox and MS will eventually shutdown or sell off the business unit. Just my two cents.

Please chime in and voice your opinion here regarding the control improvements needed and let MS know. Some feedback must get back from these forums!

    Happy gaming!

    :)

XBOX ONE controller bumpers really need an improvement.

.... bumper has finally broke. just wont work ... looks like £50 is needlessly being wasted again.

XBOX ONE controller bumpers really need an improvement.

been using these controllers for a few months now and they just seem to be cheap and flimsy ... especially the bumpers .. made out of cheap plastic that clicks soo much and they do not last very long. most games i play use the right bumper and the bumper
just stops working most times because it gets used way too much.

the bumpers would be much more better if they were softer ... if they had a spring or dampener inside them, they probably wont be as brittle and break soo often.

and paying £50 just seems too much for a controller where the bumpers will break within a month.

if there is places where they sell custom controllers with better durability i'd rather go to them just i dont know of any websites or shops in the uk that do customs.

I gotta completely agree with ya on this controller issue m8,yes the new rumble features and effect triggersvi really like all that, but at the cost of durability?Did they soley design the newxb1 controller for forza 5?This controller isnt anything new to
me as the layout goes,Razor have been designing controllers with the smaller sticks and closer buttons for years,I cant see any immediate changes ,the xb1 controller is designed for the casual gamer and children, Roll on razors new xb1 controller, but thats
gonna be a while befor ms even grant the licence.

And as for the steam box, great idea, itl be awesome,it will introduce 1000s to pc gaming and hopefully make a giany stamp on why paying to play and monthly subscriptions are the future of online gaming, im still dubiousabout the general size of 5he thing
and them managing to fit everything in, overheating worrys instantly with what ive seen of it,but once the cloud servers are fully operational the xb1 is gonna be just as good as any current high end gaming pc,the developers are making games on them as we
speak,p3ople can shout tech stsats till they are blue in the face, because they are the people that havnt got a clue whats coming with the xb1.by all means if the xb1 isnt ticking the boxes, get a steam box for now,but in a years time you,ll be back.

I love the new controller and I wouldn't consider myself a casual player. Just because people don't play FPS games doesn't mean they are casual gamers. I love RPGs,platformers, racers and action games. To me you guys are casual gamers if all you play are shooters.
    COD smh.

I prefer the looseness of the controller, you get better response times and lees thumb cramp, those that complain about it in COD are not giving it time to get use to it, leave the controller the way it is, it is perfect

First I should say that every time I hear the term "hardcore gamer" it makes me laugh, but with that said, If I actually separated gamers in categories I would say that the Xbox One is touted as being geared towards the
casual gaming audience. Anyone who reads any of the many post in the
Things that NEED FIXING with XBOX ONE...ASAP thread
can see it's filled with things like "we want to stream our movies" and "we want more apps" and "fix our tv" and... well you can get the idea I'm trying to make. There's tons of complaints in that thread and very few of them are game related. Now, I've pretty
much went off topic, so what I want to say about the controller is pretty simple. I actually like it. lol I know you don't wanna hear that, but it's ok. I understand every one is different. I do feel that sometime in the future you will have more choices to
choose from as far as controllers. I'm sure different kinds of controllers will come out. I even said in another thread about controllers that I wouldn't be surprised if a controller comes out that looks exactly like the 360 one. (someone thought the new controller
was too small) Anyways, hopefully you'll have more controller choices in the near future. Xbox One controller needs improvement :)

I've been playing back on the 360 for a few days now. I have to admit though, i like the X1 sticks more, the loose feel I find better and they have loads of grip compared to the 360. I find it more comfortable too. It's not perfect though. I used to need
a new 360 controller every 9-10 months as the left stick would start messing up and pulling to the side on it's own. My X1 controller has started to get a strange sensation and noise in the right trigger already, its still works fi e but just feels and sounds
a little odd. The build quality on the 360 controller feels better, feels solid. X1 controller feels cheaper. Overall, I prefer the X1 controller....only just though.
