Xbox One Controller, left stick faulting!!!

Both of my Xbox One Day One Edition left joysticks on the controllers have gone bad on me while just playing Forza 5 and Madden 25. Dummy me...I purchased 2 Xbone Day 1 editions...What a disappointment! I have been an Xbox Live member for 7+ years and owned
the original Xbox and then over time owned up to three Xbox 360's...Yes, I dealt with the Red Ring of Death twice on one of those old Xbox 360's, but still stuck with Microsoft through thick and thin. I also owned two PS3's but they gathered dust (other than
playing blu-rays) just like my Nintendo Wii did. I am very upset of having to pay expensive postage fees to send in my Xbone controller for repairs, It cost me nearly $7.00 postage, plus gas to the US Postal service. I sent my controller in over a month
ago and I still haven't heard when or if it will arrive back to me if ever. The second controller that also just broke is from my other Xbox Day One that I had purchased for my Son to play on, but it is most likely now out of warranty as they only give you
90 days of warranty on the controllers. What *** me off even more is that I had to go out and purchase two new controller that cost me over $120 US$ with tax to keep playing, these too from what I have been reading will also go bad..WTF!! The least Microsoft
could do is give us a $20 to $50 electronic coupon that we could print out to use towards purchasing a new controller to make up for having to spend high shipping fees, the inconvenience of having to send in our controller because it broke in the first place,
and for not knowing what the hell is going on with it, and more importantly the fact that we have to spend time to go out and purchase another controller just so we can keep playing. It just doesn't seem right at all to me. We all trusted Microsoft with
our hard earned money to deliver a top notch next gen system that was built to last and IMO they did not deliver and now they want even more money from us for their screw up. Did any of you see the video of how much R&D $$$ they put into this new controller?
What a joke, they obviously did not have real gamers play with them or they would have found out how bad they are, but instead tested them with stupid robots. The fact that I sent my controller in over a month ago and have still not received it back is also
a joke! IMO they should have sent me a replacement within 7 days of receiving it for repair. I am not a happy Xbone consumer right now. The xbox 360 controllers were bullet proof. The only thing that wore out on the 360 controllers were the rubber coated
thumb grips and of course the batteries. Other than that the 360 system and controllers were awesome! Very disappointed as a long time fan of Xbox!!! I am seriously considering a PS4 now. MS better get this controller stuff fixed quick and make it right
for people like you and I who have brought them success over the years or they are going to start losing a lot of loyal fans.

 

I just got off of the phone with Microsoft. I am able to send both of my controllers in for replacement. I was told that my Day One controller will be replaced with another Day One controller. I hope that these new controllers will be the new and improved
models. I am happy that they are sticking to their product.

Now with both controllers in the mail, how will I play my XBOX One? I simply will not be able to. Disappointed about that for sure. Then from what I have read from other posts in here people have not received the replacement controllers very quickly.
I want to buy more games and I want to play. I will say that if I do get a third controller for this system I will be buying the extra warranty for it from whatever retailer I buy it from. I will let the retailers deal with the returns to Microsoft.

 

I am on my 3rd aswell, and the first one i shipped back was lost in the mail... I sent it USPS and bc i didn't have my receipt or tracking number they did nothing for me... It was def shipped to the FEDEX TRADE NETWORK which was instructed by email... And
they done nothing for me... So i dont know what to do about that... But now the 3rd one has done the same thing... Left stick has broken.

 

You will get more broken controllers. The new controller is a piece of junk. Every single one I have tried has a broken left thumb stick... or it's on the way to being broken. This is a mass hardware failure. Look at all the people having the same problem.
360 controllers were WAY better quality. Even the new media remote is a piece of junk. All these websites spewed out positive reviews way too quick before spending time with it. You need line of site for it to even work. Reminds me using my VCR remote as a
kid. Junk.

 

Exact same issue on 4th pad now also

Fifa 14 seems to break them lol as others have reported I get a crunching noise when moving left analogue and it sticks when I try to run in different directions exact same issue in all 4 pads after a few hours play

Anyone know of any decent unofficial xbone pads?

 

Just got an xbone today and set it up. Controller keeps leaning to the right. The controller feels weak and cheaply made compared to the 360 ones. Shame we can't bin it and use 360 controllers. How do I go about swapping a controller that came with the console?
Do I need to take the whole lot back to the shop?

 

I play high intense fifa and this left anolog keeps failing joy pad number six i,ve tryed the tighten fail joypad lasted 2 days.Every single pad breaks with the same problem left anolog grinds on something then locks when you rotate. My 360 chrome pad lasted
2 years wat a pad why change the anolog systems.

 

I,ve reported this to xbox on the phone and in chat.Im on my 6th pad fifa and especially in Division 1 on any game mode the pad fails.New record 2 hours it lasted this pads cant handle high intensity on the left anolog stick it locks crunches when rotating
south west area cant defend your lines because it locks and makes your player move in a straight line.Xbox said they,ll look into it if not PS4 is the other option.

 

double bump .....its a broken clip ....very disappointed ...wasted my money on this system

 

i have a problem with my control only their is no damge the thumb pads feel just fine it has just become unresponsive on the dashboard flickin threw menus by it self in and out of game and its a pain in the *** I have to keep aiming a certain way because
the *** is doing it by itself right thumb pad issue I guess you can say and im gunna have to seen my *** to them after a have to by my own shipping box

 

I,ve opened mine and the problem is the left anolog stick. A clip should hold in place a rotating gear which is,nt there that what the rattle is. It needs sorting the clip cant handle pressure something needs sorting same problem with every pad.

 

Bye xbox cant sort it out ps4 is for the gamers a games console sort your customers out.

 

Well I am back to report on my progress regarding two controllers with same problems as you all have had. I sent back two controllers. One was the day one controller and the other was from the rechargeable battery kit set.

I received my first controller back from Microsoft on April 23rd via USPS. It was a box a little bit too big for one controller so I had initially thought that both of my controllers had arrived in one box. That was not the case. As I opened the box I
was further shocked by the lack of any type of padding or shipping etiquette. Like I stated the box was a little too big for one controller. The controller was wrapped in the same thin semi see through foam sheet material with the two Duracell batteries
in it. That’s it. I have pictures and I should post them in here. How can this type of shipping help the reliability of the controller as it is shipped, dropped, thrown etc? I shook the controller in my hand to see if it had that little rattle that all
of the controllers seem to be plagued by. Sure enough it rattled. This was not a confidence booster.

So I placed the batteries in the controller. Turned it on, sync’d it up to the XBOX One system, and updated the firmware of the controller with the headset plugged in. Put in Forza 5, chose a car and started to drive around. Everything works fine. The
car drives straight, and all of the buttons appear to work at this time. Time will tell.

In the mean time I did purchase a third controller from a local game shop. I had to buy a third one because I had sent two back in to Microsoft for repair due to normal use from a 40 year old man. With no controller you cannot play a game on your XBOX
One. So I have a lot of money wrapped in to this gaming system.

As of right now April 24 I have received a tracking number via email for my second controller ( Day One Edition ) on its way back to me. I will report back in this forum on controller number two.

I am glad that Microsoft took back both of my controllers. I am glad that I will be receiving two new controllers back. However should I really be glad about it? I mean this is something that Microsoft should be doing! Microsoft needs to do more in regards
to their ownership of this problem. There are a lot of us with this problem from all over the world. There are many videos on YouTube as well.

One tip I have for all of you out there. Register your controllers and your system right away. Document everything. I will be back to report my upcoming experience.

 

Mine went the other day, left stick made a crack and now feels and sounds awefull. And the policy for returning the pad is complete and utter

Just received my controller back yesterday, and was disappointed to find how badly it was packed. Pretty much same experience as @Sp01led Jam1e. I'm concerned about how loose the analog sticks feel as the controller probably bounced around in the box without
any padding. Hopefully, if something does go wrong and controller breaks down completely in the next few days, whatever warranty exists on the replacement can be used to send it back in for repair/replacement again.

In my case, the process from opening ticket to having my controller back took about 2 weeks.The Microsoft support team was fantastic and quite responsive in my opinion. My experience with calling "the other guys" for some questions regarding my PS4 was
a nightmare in comparison.

Microsoft does seriously need to look into how their repair factory is shipping out replacements though. If anyone at Microsoft would like to contact me, I'd be glad to forward pics of how badly the packing was done.
