Is it just me or is any one else tired of the crap quality of the xbox one controllers? I've been through three controllers so far and they all seem to have the same problem..... For instance when playing madden if you try to run to the right or make a catch
that requires to run towards the right side it seen like the player just stops or runs slower. Contacted Xbox and it seems like there is nothing they can do about the issue (horrible customer service) I was told one controller was under Warren that they would
ship it out, but when the package arrived it was the back piece for the controller. When I called back all I was told was a mistake was made sorry but we can't replace the controller. Anyways hope Microsoft can get this figured out don't think I can afford
    to many more controllers.

    :)

Learn how to clean and keep your controllers clean.

Oil/skin cells from your hands etc, WILL get past the controller shell and build up on/under internal parts causing drift.

To help prevent it, don't snack while playing and if in long matches flip the controller upside down and wipe it off. That way such particles will fall to the floor.

There is also some vids on youtube about controller drift and cleaning that may help.

Shame that support would send you a back cover in order to correct controller drift. That's like GM replacing a tire in order to repair a blown engine. Shame!

My Day 1 controller has left stick lag. My wife's controller has a faulty D-Pad.

These controllers were treated like gold.

If you were eating you weren't even allowed to look at them.

There have been, and continue to be, many threads about the XBox ONE controller going faulty.

If the Red Ring was letting the side down on the 360 then it's the controllers that are letting the side down for the ONE.

  6. I am convinced that if the X1/360 controllers were a sealed system, that controller drift would be reduced by 50%.

    How?

    1) Gaskets sealing all along the 2 main pieces of the shell.

    2) Ribbed rubberized boots for the joy sticks.

Both will help prevent particals building up and effecting the potiamature settings on the controllers.

Boots such as you will find covering your shifter in cars with manual transmissions.

Should MS impliment said designs in future controllers, I want 25% of the retail cost, for each and every unit (controller) sold. Xbox one controller left joystick ;)

For controller drift caused by other factures such as abuse. Well, nothing I aware of will help prevent that.

And for every controller with issues there are probably hundreds that don't have any, my Day one was perfect until I dropped it, I suspect a large percentage of issues are down to the user. Particularly with the mechanic of click to sprint being mapped
to the left stick, most people click and jam forward when you don't need to. This is nothing like the red ring of death debacle.

As Genchy said, there are plenty of controllers that have no issues as well. My... day 13... controller worked for about 2 years and still did the last I used it. This last Christmas I got an elite controller, so that controller was retired. It wasn't drifting
as of that time, but it did have just a very slight 'catch' starting to develop when it moved in a certain direction.

I've had (so far) better luck with these controllers than 360 controllers. I do take care of them, don't eat while gaming and etc. but I wouldn't say I'm super protective of them. I'm still convinced that a lot of the issues have to do with what kind of
gamer you are. A lot of people are 'heavy handed' and slam the sticks around a lot more than they even realize during intense sessions.

As far as using protective boots and such, I remember seeing a video (or maybe it was an article I read... it's been awhile) where there were certain engineers discussing this idea. The overall consensus was that, while it wasn't hard to do, the biggest
problem they ran into was the fact that any kind of protective cover either caused binding to some extent or an inconsistent, "catchy" feel with the stick's movement. Even if it was only at the outer extreme areas of the stick movement. Their final decision
was not to do it, since it wasn't possible to it without compromising smoothness and fluidity of motion to some degree.

I have over 2,000 hours (Set up Dec. 27th.) on my original controller. I have dropped it numerous times and quite frequently snack while playing; it still works great with no drift. My second consoles controller probably has a couple hundred hours on the
controller with no problems. The third console I use is my girlfriends (Bought about 6 months ago roughly.); I've accidentally stepped on it (6' 3"/230 pounds.), fell asleep with it (Use it for watching Netflix.), and that still works perfect. I have numerous
friends that have no complaints on the quality. Can't see this being a wide spread issue. Or maybe they only send the good controllers to Michigan? One perk to living in a mitten I guess. ;-)

    Peace, J.R.

  11. OMG D33dles's post got me to thinking and just for lols, I did the math. My OG controller (the one from my last post that still worked pretty well) had ~3700 hrs on it! Ha! Must be they sent the really good ones to PA. Although, I've never stepped on mine
    or, aherm... slept... with it.

    Xbox one controller joystick problems

I have this problem with both of my xbox one wireless controllers, particularly the left joystick and one also has a problem with the right joystick. The thing is, I hardly ever play games on my xbox one. I thought I was just crappy at all the games until
I started to fill out forms using the controller and would do left joystick and watch the highlighted letter on the alphabet screen light up once to the left and then quickly go back or down.

The joysticks are a mess and M$ has no way to report the problem or get it fixed, as far as I've been able to do. You go to the repair page, enter "controller joystick malfunction" and it gives me 2 options: 1. test console network connectivity or 2. send
in the kinect module for replacement.

    WTF? FU M$.
