Xbox one controller left joystick won't move up

So I recently bought a gears of war 4 xbox one s controller, now my issue is that the left joystick will not sense when I push it up, every other direction works fine, and if I push it in and up it works it just won't sense just pushing it up. I even checked
it on the device configuration and sure enough it sensed every direction, but up. Very weird and I've tried cleaning it, resetting the configuration. Any help would be appreciated thanks

Hello, thanks for the suggestion unfortunately I don't want to return it, it's about a half a year old and I doubt they would accept it. I do believe there may be a fix for this as every other direction works and if I put slight pressure on the joystick
and press up it will work

Hi. How long have you had that controller? I would say take it back to your retailer where you bought the controller and get an exchange if you still have the receipt.

Sorry for the issue with the controller. Sounds like there may be dirt or something preventing it from moving up. Unfortunately, the controller is out of warranty as it is only 90 days long. You can try and clean it with some compressed air.

Okay, I tested it. If I barely move the joystick, it won't do anything, but it's such a miniscule dead-zone, it's not really worth mentioning; no game would ever need to be that sensitive. The only reason it's there in the 1st place is because the bottom
plastic edge of the joysticks have to move down (as you push the joystick up, down, left, or right) to touch the sensor inside of the controller to activate the signal so that it knows you're moving the joystick - that's all; that would be true for ANY controller.
