    Ok so there are two problems with my Xbox One Controller that came with the console back at release day. It is a day one edition controller for those that need to know.

    Firstly the right hand vibration motor is quite loud and makes a buzzing noise at certain points. Secondly, the left thumb-stick at certain points does not detect when i press it to run while playing on Call of Duty Ghosts and also when i go to send a written
    message to a friend the caps lock keeps clicking on/off all the time even though i'm not touching the thumb-stick.

    I've tried all the suggested things on the official website and in the end i contacted customer services through xbox.com website and after a few basic questions the support person said i needed a replacement and initially told me to get it replaced where
    i bought it (Tesco in the UK) to which i said the controller was a day one edition and came with the console. The support woman instantly said ok microsoft will replace it BUT they would need to see the controller first. They expect me to go and buy a box
    and then pay for shipping costs which in the UK would be around £5 for that size item and weight. I said to the support person can't you send me a pre-paid box that i can use.... the answer was "no, the best way is for you to send it to us". So let me get
    this straight, the controller is broken and under warranty yet they expect me to pay to have it shipped back to them? Surely at the very least they should provide a box with a pre-paid stamp?

    When my Panasonic blu-ray player packed in under warranty two years ago and they wanted to inspect it, they sent me a box to send it back to them in so why don't Microsoft do the same?

    I am not impressed with Microsoft/Xbox customer services, they made NO EFFORT to help me out and i also argued the point that it is my only controller so if i sent it off i wouldn't be able to play on the console.

    The customer support person said they would pass my request for a pre-pay box onto "higher management" ...i will wait 7 days but so far i am not impressed and i hope if any Microsoft/Xbox person reads this they can help

    Unfortunately, I would not expect much accommodation if I were you.

    I have issues with my menu button and vibration motors on my Day One edition. After climbing the chain of supervisors on the phone, I was told that the supervisor I was speaking to would "do his best" to get me a pre-paid box and a guarantee that my replacement
    would be a Day One edition controller.

    After three business days, I received a form letter email asking me to sign up for a Microsoft Account and be sure to register my serial number. (My long-standing MS account and already-registered serial number were provided during my first phone call.)
    I responded to this email (from "Tom") with a very plain request, the same request that they were working on during my phone call: I want a replacement controller sent to me first, with a prepaid return box for the broken unit. After another week, I finally
    received a response back, saying this was't available, and to follow the directions on the website.

    Another phone call is in order for me. I would not wait to hear back from them. Call them and don't let them off the phone until they accommodate you. Unfortunately, that's the state of customer service these days.

    The unit without the controller is a useless paperweight; the accessories should therefore merit the same automatic replacement that they provide on the base unit and Kinect. "Just go buy another" is not a satisfactory response when the unit is under warranty.

    Please post an update if they actually respond to you in a positive way. Good luck.

  5. My controller was working properly before the last update, I am using the Turtle Beach headset, can't remember what model but it was close to $200. After the update my right thumbstick now movements are slow/choppy. I went out bought another controller
    thinking I had a faulty controller. I purchased the LE Titanfall controller, updated it and doing the same thing. Therefore, my new XBOX ONE is a $500 paper weight. I am going to purchase another headset adapter today to see if the rumors I've heard are
    true that certain lots of the headset adapters were faulty. Why is Microsoft not standing by their products.......agreed, just go get another one is not an acceptable answer.

    please note the only resion im saying this is an answer because it helped with me if your rt or lt butten is constently buzzing then go to the settings app then Devices & Accessories then go on your controler now even if it says no update avalible click
    on that one and it shold stop the buzzing on the LT and RT iv also noticed now iv had to do it once a day but wen youve done it sholdent buzz again and it seems to me that its not you controler that is the problem its the controler update

    Thanks for the reply and update on the issue. I recommend to try the following article:
    Xbox One Wireless Controller Solution.

    If the issue persists, try a different controlller. This will help isolate the issue between the console or controller.
    Try this link if the issue persists with the one controller: Replace your controller below to check your warranty and
    initiate an exchange.

    Give this a try and let us know the results.

    @P3rf3ctDay Having the same issue with my controller. The controller I am having issues with is one from Play and Charge set.

    Seems like the Xbox One controllers are not up to par with the Xbox 360 controllers. They just seems cheaper and flimsy.

    Is this happening on only one Xbox One, or both of them? as it could be an issue with the console losing connection to the controller as oppose to there being an issue with the controller.

    Hi,

    Do you have any other Xbox One controllers? If these work, but your other controller does not then the issue can only be with this particular controller. Windows 20H2 does not have any compatibility issues with Xbox controllers, my Xbox One, Series X and 360 controllers still work fine.
