    Xbox One Controller Issues


    Today my Xbox One controller suddenly stopped functioning properly. The issue seems to be that the vibration is constantly on and on the right hand side of the contrroller and it didn't seem to stay on, even though I had put in some fresh batteries. I
    managed to hunt down a different brand of batteries and it stayed on but it still constantly vibrated on the right side.

    Now, even though it stays on, the only button that seems to function is the Xbox button that takes it back to Home/Dashboard and I cannot navigate anywhere on my Xbox One.

    I do not own a rechargeable battery pack, another controller or cable to see if it's the controller or Xbox One, so I'm not sure if it's the Xbox console or controller.

    I don't know if this has been posted before but if anyone could help me with this I'd be grateful.

    Xbox One Controller Issues

    A slight update on this issue. I have found that I can enter into things with some effort of pressing the A button multiple times and in some things it seems to go to the right in games and in some menus and it seems wierdly selective about what I can easily
    get into and in which menus that it goes to the right making it impossible to select anything on the left.

    Another slight update. After some experimenting with various games, it seems that the right thumbstick and right trigger buttons are not functioning.

    It looks as though I am in need of a new controller.

    I would check the batteries and ensure the controller is clean.

    Controllers have a 90 day warranty and can be replaced if found to be at fault in this time frame. You would contact the hardware team at 1-800-469-9269 in the US if it's within warranty and the troubleshooting steps do not resolve. You can also create

    Thanks, SmellyFoot, but I've pretty much been through most of these things and nothing seems to work and I'm in the UK, not the US.

    I've ordered another controller to see if it is the controller and not the Xbox itself, along with the Plug and Play so I'll be able to plug the controller into the xbox and, hopefully, I'll narrow down the problem.

    I hope that it's just the controller and not the console because controllers are easier and cheaper to replace or to be sent off to be repaired.

    Thanks for the reply and update on the issue. I recommend to try the following article:
    Xbox One Wireless Controller Solution.

    If the issue persists, try a different controlller. This will help isolate the issue between the console or controller.
    Try this link if the issue persists with the one controller: Replace your controller below to check your warranty and
    initiate an exchange.

    Give this a try and let us know the results.

    Xbox One Controller Going To The Right

    @P3rf3ctDay Having the same issue with my controller. The controller I am having issues with is one from Play and Charge set.

    Seems like the Xbox One controllers are not up to par with the Xbox 360 controllers. They just seems cheaper and flimsy.

    Is this happening on only one Xbox One, or both of them? as it could be an issue with the console losing connection to the controller as oppose to there being an issue with the controller.

    Do you have any other Xbox One controllers? If these work, but your other controller does not then the issue can only be with this particular controller. Windows 20H2 does not have any compatibility issues with Xbox controllers, my Xbox One, Series X and 360 controllers still work fine.
