Xbox One Controller Issues

I bought my first Xbox One on black Friday. It was the Halo Bundle. Everything was fine but the controller seemed to disconnect suddenly, then immediately come back on. Really annoying and made it possible to play any games as the disconnects were random
and often frequent, as in several a minute.

Back to my first xbox, I tried what I could and decided to return the xbox for a new one to see if I would have better luck. It was an assassin's creed bundle. This xbox started fine for a few minutes but then started to have the same problems. I looked
on line for any more steps or trouble shooting that I could do, and even talked to support and did all they suggested, including restoring my console, etc. No luck.

I returned that xbox back to walmart and decided to get my next xbox from Costco because their return policy is amazing and has no time limit incase I had any more problems. Turns our this new xbox had the same issue, as well as a loud power brick. Running
out of options, I exchanged it for a new xbox that thankfully does not have any noise issues, but my controller problem is the same.

I have tried every step I could find other than anything to do with wifi or routers. I live in an area where each apartment does not have any direct ethernet connections, but we all share a wireless internet. It is on-campus housing. So I do not have much
control over any of the wifi. Unless I have been incredibly unlucky and had 4 bad consoles in a row, my problem has to be something to do with the wifi here and I need to know what I should do to try to solve this issue. I do not understand why the Xbox One
is having so many issues when my 360 never had any controller issues whatsoever.

Please help me out! I can contact my school's IT department and have them help me out but I do not know what exactly to tell them yet or what the possible issue could be. I just want a controller that connects to my console that is constant and reliable,
not this constantly and frequent disconnections.

A Blackxican: pick up a good, long micro-usb cable and play wired; forget playing wirelessly especially if you like to play online. Keep an eye out for a real wired controller if MS or 3rd party releases one, though, as YMMV on the usb cable connectors wearing
out... a USB A/B type connector with a latching mechanism would've been ideal but that's a whole other digression...

I recently received a good micro usb cable. It is just an inconvenience though and I feel like it is something that they should address. My 360 never once had a connection issue. I will use the cable during my games but I really hope that this issue will
be addressed and fixed in a future update.

I hear you regarding the 360 - solid as a rock; I have 2 side-by-side and never have any problems. 2 Xbones side-by-side? Controllers disconnect every couple minutes if you try to go wireless. You're not going to see this machine at a LAN party any time
soon.

Thanks for the reply and update on the issue. I recommend to try the following article:
Xbox One Wireless Controller Solution.

If the issue persists, try a different controlller. This will help isolate the issue between the console or controller.
Try this link if the issue persists with the one controller: Replace your controller below to check your warranty and
initiate an exchange.

Give this a try and let us know the results.

@P3rf3ctDay Having the same issue with my controller. The controller I am having issues with is one from Play and Charge set.

Seems like the Xbox One controllers are not up to par with the Xbox 360 controllers. They just seems cheaper and flimsy.

For hardware issues, we can only recommend replacing the controller.

Is this happening on only one Xbox One, or both of them? as it could be an issue with the console losing connection to the controller as oppose to there being an issue with the controller.

Do you have any other Xbox One controllers? If these work, but your other controller does not then the issue can only be with this particular controller. Windows 20H2 does not have any compatibility issues with Xbox controllers, my Xbox One, Series X and 360 controllers still work fine.
