Xbox One Controller Issue

Okay, so I've been having an on-going issue with my controllers with the Xbox One

Basically, when i power down the Xbox, the controller disconnects some time between when it shuts down and when i use it next. So for instance: i get it working again, i use it for games/netflix/browsing, then i shut it off (its on the soft shut down mode
so its always "on"), then the next day i hit the Xbox button and it just blinks at me with nothing happening to the Xbox

I have to manually power it, and using the controller connect buttons does nothing. The only way of fixing it is by unplugging the Xbox and hard resetting it, or by connecting via a wire, which is not what im wanting.

It is NOT low batteries, does it with brand new ones

It is NOT disconnecting mid use

It will NOT connect by using the button on the console simultaneously with the controller commect button

Xbox one controller issue

could just be the lower hand panel.... the XB360 was a one piece... the 1 has a panel that can be removed to access the rumble...

Xbox one controller issue

I'm wondering if I'm not the only one here with that being said I have an xbox one controller an it has like a bending plastic feel or noise of plastic bending when you squeeze the controller on one side and this is my replacement controller and the other
one had same issue so who is experiencing this issue?

Hey there, Poocheese55!

I'm sorry to see any issues with your controller! The best test we have to figure out whether it's the console or the controller is by testing either a new controller on your console or taking your current controller to a new console and sync it up there.
Depending on the results of those, you will have a few options available.

If another controller works just fine on your console, then it's likely the controller itself. I would suggest getting a replacement at that point. If it's still under warranty, you can get a replacement through our
Device Support site.

If another controller doesn't work on your console, then first you will want to try a

factory reset on your console. I suggest trying the console refresh option first, which is the one where you keep your games and apps. If that doesn't work, then you will want to try a full reset. And if that doesn't work, then you would likely need to
get your console repaired. You can also set that up using the link above, regardless of warranty status (though out of warranty repairs do come with a cost).

Turn it around if you end up using another console. If it works on another console, then you need to go through the steps above for the console. If it doesn't work on another console, you'll want to do what is suggested
for the controller.

Thanks for the reply and update on the issue. I recommend to try the following article:
Xbox One Wireless Controller Solution.

If the issue persists, try a different controlller. This will help isolate the issue between the console or controller.
Try this link if the issue persists with the one controller: Replace your controller below to check your warranty and
initiate an exchange.

@P3rf3ctDay Having the same issue with my controller. The controller I am having issues with is one from Play and Charge set.

Seems like the Xbox One controllers are not up to par with the Xbox 360 controllers. They just seems cheaper and flimsy.

Is this happening on only one Xbox One, or both of them? as it could be an issue with the console losing connection to the controller as oppose to there being an issue with the controller.

Do you have any other Xbox One controllers? If these work, but your other controller does not then the issue can only be with this particular controller. Windows 20H2 does not have any compatibility issues with Xbox controllers, my Xbox One, Series X and 360 controllers still work fine.
