Xbox One Controller Issue

I bought a xbox one S and have been using the controller that it came with for roughly 2 1/2 years, and it's now starting to go out on me. When pushing the joystick right (as tested when playing State of Decay 2) there is next to no movement, or the character
stands completely still. This isn't the first controller I've had with this issue (I had two launch day controllers and a third party controller break on me with minimal use,) and I'm wondering what causes this or if there is anyway to fix it.

Also, it'd be great if xbox could have backward compatability to the 360 controlller, seeing's how I've never had an issue with it, and I still use it!

And finding the forums is terrible. I needed to throw that out there.

Xbox one controller issue

could just be the lower hand panel.... the XB360 was a one piece... the 1 has a panel that can be removed to access the rumble...

Xbox one controller issue

I'm wondering if I'm not the only one here with that being said I have an xbox one controller an it has like a bending plastic feel or noise of plastic bending when you squeeze the controller on one side and this is my replacement controller and the other
one had same issue so who is experiencing this issue?

It would be good if the Xbox One had backwards compatabaility with the 360 controller, only slight problem is that the 360 controller doesn't have rumble triggers..................so ............................ye, cant see that ever happening.

Thanks for the reply and update on the issue. I recommend to try the following article:

If the issue persists, try a different controlller. This will help isolate the issue between the console or controller.
Try this link if the issue persists with the one controller: Replace your controller below to check your warranty and
initiate an exchange.

@P3rf3ctDay Having the same issue with my controller. The controller I am having issues with is one from Play and Charge set.

Seems like the Xbox One controllers are not up to par with the Xbox 360 controllers. They just seems cheaper and flimsy.

For hardware issues, we can only recommend replacing the controller.

Is this happening on only one Xbox One, or both of them? as it could be an issue with the console losing connection to the controller as oppose to there being an issue with the controller.

Do you have any other Xbox One controllers? If these work, but your other controller does not then the issue can only be with this particular controller. Windows 20H2 does not have any compatibility issues with Xbox controllers, my Xbox One, Series X and 360 controllers still work fine.
