    Xbox One Controller Isn't Recognized Via Bluetooth on Xbox PC App


    A few days ago I've noticed that my Xbox One S controller wasn't being recognized on any of my Xbox Apps on my laptop. The laptop recognizes it from the bluetooth devices but when trying to use it on my Xbox pc app, the Xbox cloud on my browser or the Xbox Accessories app, its not showing up at all. I've updated the controller, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the bluetooth drivers for it and tried other official controllers and the problem still persists. The only way my controllers work is if I use a usb cable. I am at a loss here. I've never had this problem for the longest time until around 3 days ago.

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you're having issues using your Xbox One S controller on your Windows PC.

    The latest Xbox controller firmware update may affect Bluetooth connectivity and performance with some non-Xbox devices. If your controller is having Bluetooth-related issues after a firmware update, you can choose to revert your controller to an earlier firmware version to correct the problem.

    On your Xbox console, press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then go to Profile & system > Xbox Support > Get help > Help topics > Hardware & networking > Controllers > My Xbox controller has connection issues after the last update. Select Check your controller’s firmware to open the controller firmware reversion screen in the Xbox Accessories app, and then follow the instructions in the app.

    Note: You can also use this link to revert your controller’s firmware on a Windows device. You will need to have the Xbox Accessories app for Windows installed for the Check your controller’s firmware link to work. If you don’t have the app, get it here: https://aka.ms/xboxaccessoriesupdateapp

    Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

    Connect with a USB cable

    Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

    Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

    The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

    Connect via Bluetooth

    Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
    Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

    Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

    The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

    Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."

    Elite series 2 not working on PC after update.

    Did you find a solution to this problem? I updated my Elite series 2 yesterday, and now I have the exact same problem. Elite series 2 is recognized as a regular xbox controller and does connect via bluetooth, but doesnt work. Connected via USB-c the XBOX accessories app doesnt even recognize it...

    Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but that didnt help.
