You should get in touch with Microsoft see if it's still under warranty. Is it a elite 2 controller . If it is I would definitely get in touch with Microsoft as they are investigating the problems 👍

There's a button on the front of the Xbox itself that switches it on. You can also use the PC app to remotely switch the Xbox on and voice assistant integration means you can use a Google or Amazon device to do it too.

Not in my experience. If I turn on via the console, the controller, uSB attached, doesn't turn on and I have to press the Nexus button to turn the controller on, which brings up the Passkey screen. Not sure if this is the case without a Passkey assigned.

If I use controller to turn the console on it will display Passkey screen.

antonisawesome97 , if you have run the steps to update your controller as Honda Man 04 suggested and cleaned around the button, and it hasn't fixed it, sounds like its faulty and you need to replace it.

Sounds like its time to invest in a new one u could try resinking it with xbox

Try checking to see if you have the latest firmware for your controller. Trouble shooting on the controller can fix various issues with the controller when you update it.
