Xbox one controller headset stopped working on pc after no changes were made

Gotchya. So you say you have had it working before. Was that before or after the Dashboard Update? If after, were there any other changes made since it stopped working? Updates? New router? New PC?

I'm having the exact same issue with a Monster gaming headset AND a Turtle Beach head set, on two different Xbox consoles. My son has the turtle beach and after about 4 months his headset stopped working with one of his controllers. Plug it into the other
controller it works fine. The controller was still under warranty so Xbox sent a new one and it worked fine.

1 year later, both his controllers have stopped recognizing his headset, and both my controllers have stopped recognizing my headset. I know it is not the headsets, it is the Xbox controllers. I have seen loads of posts about this, but nothing but silence
from Microsoft on the issue.

Come on Microsoft! Admit your controllers have an issue and fix this! People should not have to buy new controllers every 12 months in order to keep using their expensive head sets!

Controller headset issue

Purchased an Xbox One S in December with 2 controllers. After a few weeks the headsets (tried several models) stopped working. Tried all the troubleshoots as listed without any success.

Controller which has been replaced under warranty has no issues (yet).

Any update on this? I had the same problem, so I switched to another PC that was still working correctly, meaning I could see my xbox one streamed through windows 10, but continue to use the controller with the headset as usual.

And then after several weeks, just like with my 1st PC, for some reason the party chat now transitions away from my controller headset to my PC when I start streaming. If I stop streaming, the controller headset starts working again. So my choice is to
either participate in party chat OR see the screen, but not both.

This makes streaming useless for any multiplayer activity involving party chat.

I have bought a new headset and controller, as I stated before, and I have seen no changes at all. The controllers work fine, and I used the headset while calling someone, and the mic worked then. I also tried it on someone else's network (and a much better
one), and it still didn't work. I think it's a hardware issue, because everything else hasn't worked, so I believe it's localized to my Xbox, which the mic suddenly stopped working after the Cortana update.
