Xbox one Controller Has problems

I had a problem updating my xbox one controller. The first thing I noticed was that the LED which indicates the charging status was acting up. I took it to back to Best Buy for an exchange. I bought another controller and similar problems occurred.
Although the controller worked, however it was the updating issue that occurred. I could use the cable that came with the stereo adaptor to update the controller but not the cable with the LED. After looking at the forum I noticed other people were having
problems updating the controller. I talked to technical support and after going through several trouble shooting steps; I summarized that the problem is in the cable. Because everything work except the updating aspect; at least in the two cables that I have.
I am able to update the controller with the non LED cable.

And no problems.

Bought an Xbox 360 controller mostly every year because of thumbsticks deadzone problems.

So for me,the choice is easy.

 

Can't Register My Xbox One Controller

So my Xbox one controller has had drifting problems, and needs a replacement. But when I try to register a device, it won't let it, it says something has occurred and couldn't be registere or something like that, anyone know how to register this because
i have tried multiple browsers and this controller has some serious problems.

 

Whats a LED cable? I always use a micro USB cable to update my controller.

 

It's the one that comes with the charge kit (guessing) it has an LED on it which goes green when its charged and red when charging. I used the charge cable to update and it worked fine. Not tried the one that came with the audio adapter.

 

Green? Red? Mine just goes white, lol.

had to double check, the video defo shows it going from red to green

The LED cable goes from orange to white. White when fully charged. This is the cable that was not recognized during the updating process.
