    Xbox One Controller - hard rightt stick press shuts down controller


    At first I thought my controller was randomly shutting down but it appears a hard press up and left on the right stick causes it to either go to the sub menu of my game or a full shutdown of the controller.

    I've seen quite a few posts with the same problem but the threads are usually locked so I can't chime in. This controller is thirteen months old. Am I out of luck for a warranty fix or replace? It's one of the multi colour (I think "elite version" - $10
    More than the regular one)

    Was there ever a recall on these seeing as so many have this issue?

    The original controller was much better quality but the buttons on it also started malfunctioning.

    I find these replacement controllers to feel a bit cheap and the gyros rattle around like crazy even from brand new.

    The controller will shut itself down to save power if not used, usually shuts down within 10 minutes. To avoid this, press any button on the controller.

    If the controller is not receiving any input it will time out and shut off. Every now and then you need to move a stick or do something with the controller to prevent it from timing out and shutting down.

    Well, with your controller all you need to do is press couple seconds Xbox button in your controller until a menu appears. Then press shut down and go to step 2

    If you mean to temporarily stop a game, then press the Start button on the controller, usually. To completely quit out of it, press the white Home button on the controller, go down to the game in the menu, and press Quit and this will shut it down.
