xBox One controller goes too fast between menus and button B doesnt work

can you plug the controller into a pc and see how that works?

Also is it connected wirelessly to your xbox? if so can you plug in with the usb wire and see how it is?

It sounds like you may need to either get a new controller or send yours off to be repaired. One thing you can try is to test a different controller if you have one available.

Funny conversation. I was just telling a friend that I'd like a fast way to toggle between game and party chat. Maybe a button on the controller or something, a bit like the control puck on my ancient MS GameVoice PC setup. Right now I have to bring up a
menu with the Guide button, dig a level or two, change a setting, then clear that away. That not only is too much work, it interferes with the game in progress, where something like a simple toggle button on the controller could instantly swap back and forth
without needing the menus in the way, or taking eyes / extra fingers off the controller and game.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?? Also in between the uninstall and reinstall, Hard reset and power cycle too....

If the controller speed is too fast even on the dashboard, then one of the buttons might be pressed. What I mean is, say it is showing the dashboard currently, then the buttons, A is held while moving the thumbstick, then it would move quickly. It could
be that the controller is dirty internally between the buttons or the controller needs to be repaired.
