Xbox one controller freezing up constantly on PC (connected via USB), windows 10

that doesn't explain why i have issues with setting up the controller - it bugs out the "set up usb game controllers" tool in windows 10 in the same way it does in a game. it also occurs when the controller is connected while launching other games. the xbox accessories app still stutters like crazy. it seems to be a controller issue

I'm using it without an App as well, but I can confirm that this is happening. My controller will work just fine for a random amount of time, then I'll notice the game stutter, I lose control for a second, and it will come back but intermittently put me out of control and stutter after that. Occasionally I will also hear the USB connect and disconnect sound a few times. This also has the side effect of constantly cycling through my windows menus when I exit the game. There's no change to things like firefox, other programs, etc but if i open my start menu, or right click on anything in my taskbar, the menus will constantly scroll until I restart the machine. I'm seeing this happening to too many other people for this to be a random occurrence. Something is wrong.

I've logged more than 120 hours on Elden Ring with the Xbox One and it's just started locking up constantly. Doesn't seem like a Ring problem.

I use the Xbox joystick without using any APP and it works fine, there is a problem and it is on your PC, it remains to find out what causes the problem, it is probably software

According to reports on various forums, the problem is with the game in question. It is not possible to explain but it occurs with a joystick always used in the PC version. Unfortunately, in cases like this, all that remains is to wait for the developer to fix it.
