XBOX One Controller for Windows Works Until It Goes Into 1st Sleep

Hey Guys -

I recently purchased an Oculus Rift which came with a wireless XBox One controller for Windows. I currently have the wireless dongle connected via USB and am using it in Windows 10 Professional (fully patched + 1604.)

After a fresh reboot, I can press the button on the controller to connect wirelessly and it connects + works as it is supposed to. If I walk away for a few minutes, the controller goes into sleep mode and disconnects where the button is not lit anymore.
Going back to it, I hit the button to connect again, but it fails to connect. It just blinks as if connecting but ends up not connected / button not lit. The ONLY way I can get it to reconnect is by performing a full restart of my PC.

How do I resolve this issue? Below is what I've tried so far - nothing made a difference...

- Updated controller firmware by installing the XBox Accessories Win10 app

- Disabled power saving options for USB ports in the OS

- Tried dongle on USB 2 port, USB 3 port, and USB port on a powered hub

- Uninstalled driver from Device Manager, rebooted, and let it reinstall it again from Windows update / online

- Ensured batteries were at 100% or brand new

Controller buttons not working in netflix

Wireless controller works fine in netflix until it goes to sleep then when I awaken the controller no buttons work to control Netflix. The controller still works to get to Xbox home and functions fine in the menu, just not Netflix. Please help.

This started happening to me today. I have to hard reset my Xbox One for the controller to work properly again. The other thing that happens is that the Kinect is turning itself off and the Xbox One is reporting it as unplugged. As soon as I reset the
console everything works again until I either let it go idle and the controller turns off or I put the console to sleep.

I will test it with my android phone, which is the only other device Ive got at my disposal.

Aside from the auto sleep problem, the controller works flawlessly, is there any way to disable auto sleep on Windows?

I noticed the controller goes to sleep fairly quickly when not used so it's easy on batteries. the old xbox 360 controller tended to need new batteries more often.
