    Xbox one controller drivers for PC not installing


    Hey all,

    Now that the Xbox one controller is supported for PC, I was trying to set it up. I've tried a couple of different ways - by just plugging the controller in and letting windows do it's thing, and by getting the drivers first and then plugging the controller
    in. Neither have worked, it identifies the controller as an Xbox one controller, but then just says that the driver installation failed. I'm running windows 7. I also tried updating the controller through the Xbox, but that didn't help either. I can't find
    anything about anyone else having similar problems, so any ideas?

    Xbox one controller drivers for PC not installing

    Hi,

    What type of USB cable are you using to connect your Xbox one controller to your PC? Have you tried another USB cable? It could be an issue with the cable not working right with the PC. Are you using the official play and charge USB cable for the Xbox
    One controller or a third party cable?

    Have you downloaded the correct driver? There are two drivers, one for 32-bit versions of Windows and one for 64-bit. If your computer is less than four years old, you should be running a 64-bit OS.

    I fixed the issue, had to do a windows update, then I just plugged it in, and it installed and worked fine. So for anyone else with this problem just do windows update (it was in the non essential update section).

    What is al driver? And windows 10 is already their in my laptop.
    Once you connect your controller to your PC, Windows should prompt you to install the drivers.

    If nothing happens, open Store on your PC and install "Xbox Accessories" app. Then connect your Xbox One Controller, and check whether there are any updates. If there are then update the controller.
