Xbox one controller drifting

While playing Assassins Creed Syndicate, my view keeps drifting down to the ground, after correcting it, within a couple of seconds same again, it makes it difficult running etc. when this is continually happening. I've tried resetting the controller (including
batteries) and the console, it doesn't do it on other games, Just to clarify I'm about a quarter of the way through the game and all was ok before.

Not quite understanding what you mean by centerpoint. Is the controller drifting up? For steps on drifting controllers, check out our

Xbox One Controller Troubleshooter. Unfortunately for drifting issues, the controller would need to be repaired or replaced depending on your warranty status.

try updating if not get a new one.

 

That typically requires that the controller be replaced.

 

Have you perhaps inadvertently adjusted the Y or X Axis Sensitivity in the controller options in Assassin's Creed: Syndicate? If you have the option for "Default" should be on the screen with a button prompt to reset it.

Regardless, you can use those controller sensitivity options to negate the drift by turning the sensitivity down in increments, and checking the results in-game. =)

 

My Day 1 Controller drifts and I had to purchase another one because it was over a year old and therefore out of warranty.

My wife eventually surprised me with an Elite controller.

One of the reasons I wouldn't have bought myself an Elite controller is that the XBox ONE is the only system I've ever had to purchase a new controller for. Never been an issue for any other console.

I have had numerous systems and this just seems to be normal wear on the controller. it's just time to get a new one, unfortunately.
