Xbox one controller disconnects when I lose connection to the internet

Does anyone else's xb1 controller disconnect when they lose xbox live connection? I just want to know if that is normal.

Hey, also having the same issue. As of several weeks ago I'm getting simultaneous wifi / controller disconnects on a regular basis. Support was no help at all.

I've had my Xbox One for about a year and half, but I really haven't used it too much since then. The times I did use it it worked fine until about May of this year, when some odd issues started occurring. My controller randomly disconnects and has trouble
syncing back up very frequently. It also signs me out of profiles and the console seems to lose a connection to the Internet. I've tried using several Xbox One wireless controllers and they all lose connection, so I know that it isn't the controller. I've
plugged a wired controller in and although the controller doesn't lose connection, I still get kicked out of profiles and it randomly says "Connect To Xbox Live" as though I've lost Internet. I've tried hooking directly up with an ethernet cable instead of
using my wireless like I normally do, but that still causes the disconnections. I've tried moving the Xbox One out from underneath my TV stand in case maybe there was some interference or something but that hasn't solved anything either. I've also tried
playing games offline, not connected to the Internet, and the controller still disconnects constantly, so it isn't my router either. I'm thinking maybe the issue has to do with the wireless wifi card inside possibly? Has anyone else had a similar issue? I've
tried about everything I can think of. Thanks.

If your Wifi with internet disconnects along with control of the wifi, it really is a software problem not hardware! Tell me whenever disconnecting the internet occurs, your control disconnects along every time or rare times?

 

I know why my internet keeps disconnecting. What im saying is my controller disconnects when i lose connection. It will reconnect but on rare occasions it will not turn back on. Dont worry about the wifi part. All I need to know is if the controllers are
supposed to drop conneection and then reconnect when the xbox all of a sudden loses internet connection. I dont lose control of the wifi.

 

Sorry you can disregard that last thing I put. I read what you wrote wrong. Everytime I lose internet connection my controller drops its connection as well. Sometimes it wont even turn back on.

 

Then we have another person with the problem! Please, follow us on topic I mentioned above! Let's create forces against Microsoft! It does not fix our problem!

 

I've been having an issue where my Xbox One disconnects from my WiFi and at the same time any and all controllers associated with it. The other thing is that it only started doing it after the last software update. Now this problem occurs virtually every
other day. The only [temporary] solution that I have found to reinstate internet / controller connectivity is to turn off the console and unplug/disconnect the power supply. After waiting about ten minutes, it will usually be good after restarting and re-entering
my router info like nothing had ever happened. However, now this isn't always a guarantee as sometimes it will reconnect and then do it all over again five minutes later.

I've been reading and posting in many other forums under this issue and apparently it's very common and has received no attention from Microsoft other than to send your console in for repair! That seems insane for what is OBVIOUSLY a software issue. I don't
understand how physically repairing the console would have anything to do with this problem, I really don't. I also don't especially want to send my console in since I use it to watch TV all the time and it's an integral part of my media center now...

So will Microsoft please release some sort of a patch or fix before Fallout comes out.
