Xbox One controller disconnects when headset/and adapter plug in

Keeping it plugged in isn't really a great option for me, as it causes a "buzzing" over the voicechat (both I, and my friends all hear it, so I guess it's feeding into my outbound signal) Xbox One controller disconnects when headset/and adapter plug in :(

Xbox one will not power with updated controller with MS Stereo headset plugged in

Xbox one will not power with updated controller with MS Stereo headset plugged in. Once I disconnect MS Stereo headset and adapter it powers on syncs just fine. Then I plug in the headset and adapter everything works. But if i power off controller or xbox
one it won't sync with the headset and adapter plugged in. Ive updated controller. It works fine with old chat headset. It works fine plugged in usb.

Here is an update. I noticed that this is happening with some games. Not with all games. One example is Raymond Legends. But I did one thing that fixed this. After the March 11 update, the console allows you to change sound to 5.1. 7.1, etc. uncompressed.
I had changed it to 5.1. So I changed it back to stereo uncompressed and I ran a test. There were no freezing at all. Hope this helps.

Xbox One controller disconnects when headset/and adapter plug in

MS support have now asked me to send in my controller to be replaced, glad I have a back up controller that doesn't have this issue or I'd be really peeved.

My controller has been "crashing" and disconnecting since I applied the controller firmware update when I got my Official Stereo Headset and Official Stereo Headset Adaptor on Friday. My Xbox One was in the Preview Programme, and I had already previously
updated the controller during that, yet had to update it again when I got the headset and adaptor on Friday.

I can play Titanfall for around two hours with the adaptor and headset connected, and then I'll get an awful noise through the headset and the Xbox One will tell me the controller has been disconnected even though the light on it is still on.

I have to take the battery out of the controller and put it back in to be able to get it to come back on and reconnect.

I have tried going to Advanced Network settings and selecting to "Clear" the "Alternate MAC address" as mentioned in a post on here somewhere, and have also tried power cycling the console. Neither has helped.

Xbox Support on Twitter first claimed it didn't sound related to the controller update, even though it never happened before the controller firmware update and even though I provided them with links for various threads about it here at Xbox.com along with
Tweets from The Verge's Tom Warren who's suffering the same problem.

They now suggest cutting power at the wall for 5 minutes and re-syncing, which tbh I doubt will be any help at all.

Microsoft support staff are terrible. They have no clue how to fix this.

Cutting power and resyncing won't do it, at least not permanently. I had the box unplugged all day / manually resync'd and it's still disconnecting.

Support doesn't know because they haven't identified what the problem is. It's the same thing when RRoD's first started becoming a problem - nobody knew what the deal was so they spent months spitballing answers hoping something works. We have to keep
pushing for them to escalate the problem so that someone will figure out the problem and tell the support staff how to deal with it.

Part of the problem I think is that MS is in denial / unaware that the problem may be with the firmware. I have friends with controllers disconnecting on OEM headsets, which would rule out a problem with the recently released stereo adapters.

It could be bad hardware, interference, etc, but given how many of us have only seen the problem *after* the firmware update, my bet is that the firmware either a) Has a problem in itself, or b) Otherwise made the controller a whole lot more sensitive to
    a different problem like interference.

Xbox One controller disconnects when headset/and adapter plug in

I have been using my Astro A50's for about a year now and love them! I have my Xbox 360 ported through my Xbox One and I have my Astro receiver in port to my One and the out port going to my surround sound receiver and was having no issues using my headset
wireless. I recently purchased the headset adapter for the Xbox One controller and did the update for the controller so that I could start using my A50's to chat on the One. Since doing this my A50 will no longer work wireless. The only way to get sound even
just to watch a movie on either console I have to be plugged into the Xbox One controller and it has to be on. I have even tried connecting the Asrto receiver to the 360 and get no sound at all. I have also been getting the controller shut off thing. Anyone
know how to fix these issues?!!

Parker1972 no one knows how to fix this, not even microsoft. Buy a new controller might resolve the issue.

Having the same issue as most. Just posting to keep this thread going in some small hope that maybe MS will respond. Have a Day One Xbox One, never had a problem with it at all. Purchased the official MS Stereo Headphones with the chat adapter, did the
required update. Now plagued with constant controller disconnects while playing games. Only way to clear the disconnect is to pull the battery. Last thing that was done to the unit was a controller update, so logic would say that is the cause of the controller
malfunctions. Hoping that someone from MS will respond.
