Xbox ONE controller disconnects, sync, movement issues

So far, so good! No issue syncing the controller wirelessly, or playing. The play'n'charge battery life seems hugely improved as well.

Lesson learned - the USB charging cable only charges; it doesn't eliminate the wireless!

Strange you should say that as when the controller got a video made about it with Graham boyd (acey bongos) and the lead designer just before launch, it was stated that if you plugged in your controller with the usb cable it would then become a wired controller?

just jump to 2 minutes and 6 seconds to hear for yourself.

I know, I'd seen the same, and thought I'd safely ruled out wireless issues.

Maybe then mean it acts like just like a wired controller.

Anyhow, I switched the video sender thing back on, to see if the problem came back, and it did! So switched it straight back off obviously

I suppose it could have been interfering with something else in the guts of the Xbox, but wireless seems the obvious suspect.

I've had the same problem since I bought the console last November, can get especially irritating when playing online multiplayer, single player not so much as most games automatically pause when the controller disconnects.

Obvious from my posts, but look for anything that'd cause wireless interference. Phone near the console, router, video sender, doorbells etc.

im having the same problem with what is now my second pad. contacted microsft to more or less be told to f**k off and buy another. its beyond a joke considering how exspensive the are im also thinking of trading my xbox in for a playstaion 4 and ive always
loved the xbox from the original

Are you still in warranty? Worth a try for another Xbox, MS should be able to send you one.

If your issue is the same as mine though, really hunt down anything that could be causing wireless interference.

Mine has been perfect since turning off the TV sender thing. (even though it worked fine with it on for months).

Ok - I brought in in to work, hooked it up to an LCD and WiFi, and it worked fine!

Can anyone confirm that the controller is still using wireless, whilst wired to the Xbox with USB?

This could have been sheer luck (sometimes it works at home), but it's looking more like it's wireless interference...

I'm going to grab it at lunchtime, and try it at work.

The trouble is that it will work sporadically. To the point that on occasion I've though that I'd fixed it by:

Ejecting the disk

Re-seating the power cord

Various combinations of turning off and on

Crying like a small child and begging the *** thing to work....

I'll report back this afternoon.

Oh, and it happens before, and after, the controller firmware update (which is hard to do with a controller that doesn't work right!).

I'm not in the preview program, so don't get anything but public updates.

I've tried a hard reset, factory reset, replacement Xbox from MS, 3 different controllers.

Same behavior wired or wireless, when I can get it to sync wirelessly, which is very rare.

It's not the game either, happens with other disks in the drive.

All cables re-seated etc.

I bought a new PS on Amazon, as it's the only thing that hasn't been replaced. Will try it this evening.

If that doesn't work, I'm all out of ideas.
