Xbox One Controller Disconnects mid-game + other related issues

    Hello,

I have been having problems with my Xbox One controllers for about a month now.

Plugged into my controller while I am playing is the charge-and-play kit cable, the Microsoft stereo headset adapter to which I plug a 3.5 to 2.5 mm headphone jack converter, which in turn is plugged into a talk-back cable that I have inserted in my headphones.
I only use my Xbox to play Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, so I am unsure as to whether or not my issue is game specific, but here is my problem:

At what seem to be random instances while playing the game, my controller will stop responding to my game. I keep it plugged in all the time, to the Microsoft charge-and-play cable with its respective battery pack inserted. Each time it does this, I do
not have a pop-up notification that tells me to "reconnect my controller". It simply stops functioning. The white light from the charge pack stays on, the white xbox button stays lit. My controller holds whatever action I was doing at the instant of the
issue and continuously does it (i.e. move right on the left toggle).

I have tried several things to resolve this issue. Typically, I try and hold the Xbox button on the controller to force it to power off, but that does not work. I have held it for 10+ seconds on occasion, and it does not respond, just like any other button.
Next, I unplug the charge-and-play cord from my controller. Once I do that, the controller turns off, and I receive a message telling me to reconnect the controller. After the controller is powered down from this action and still unplugged, I have tried
to turn it on again with the white button. It powers on and the button flashes, but it does not connect to my Xbox console. After a few seconds, it powers off again due to not connecting.

Occasionally, re-inserting the charge cable turns on the controller and I gain control once again. When this solution occurs, sometimes I regain chat functionality, other times I do not, and end up having to fully shut down the console. The only method
I have found to fix this problem every time is to fully power down my Xbox One console, and restart everything. This is very inconvenient, as I lose progress in the game, I have to reconnect to Xbox Live, and have to wait for my Xbox party to finish the match
I had to abandon and pick me back up to play.

I have followed all of the standard troubleshooting options as suggested on the troubleshooting page of the support site for a disconnected controller. I am certain that the battery pack is at or near full each time this issue occurs, as the white charging
light is lit the entire time I play. I have tried removing the battery pack, and ensuring that nothing could be interfering with it powering the controller. I have tried re-syncing my controller to the console, but this also does not work. Since I have
it directly plugged into the back of the console via charging cable at all times, I do not see how this could be an issue (Controller does function wirelessly after a full re-boot of the console). I have disconnected the headset, or adapter, or my talk-back
cable, all in different orders upon the issue happening multiple times a day. Unplugging the headset in any way does not help the connection. I sit three feet from my console, and distance for the signal should not be an issue. The firmware on my controller
is fully up to date, and I have tried a second controller. The issue still persists. Some days there is no problem at all. Other times, it has this issue three + times in an hour.

I appreciate your time and assistance, I look forward to any insight or suggestions on how to resolve my recurring problem.

    Thanks.

    :)

    Controller connectivity, and related issues

I sit one floor directly above my Xbox and I am running in to a lot of controller connectivity issues. It's the same exact setup I had with my Xbox 360, but the Xbox One controller will disconnect a few times every hour for a few seconds. I have a support
case open with Microsoft, but right now they are going to RMA my console as I have had this happen with two different controllers. The only thing in the 2.4ghz range is my Wifi, which was functional with my 360. Has anyone else noticed a weaker controller,
or some shorter TTLs on controller connectivity?

Also, when the controller disconnects the party chat sometimes totally breaks. I have a headset plugged into my controller, which typically limits the chat audio to the headset (which is yet another way the 360 out classes the Xbox One). When my controller
reconnects here are some of the random things that might happen:

    • I rejoin party chat just fine
    • I end up in both game and party chat, which I can hear through my headset (which would be an awesome feature), but no one can hear me talk I assume I am talking in game chat)
    • I end up back in party chat, but no one can hear me talk (I assume I am talking in game chat)
If anyone has any advice that would be great, but I'm really posting this as support listed it as my best option to submit a bug.

Xbox drops internet connection, then controller drops connection

Okay, so I have quite a strange problem occurring, and I'm positive both issues correlate with each other. I will be mid-game, drop connection and then my controller will disconnect - or visa versa. Have tried a power cycle, as well as updating my controller
firmware. Both my xbox, as well as my controller are using wireless connections

Thank you. I just filled out the survey. My problem seems to be very similar to the OP's on that thread, but I am pretty sure his controller reconnects automatically after a few seconds, and I believe that he is also using is wirelessly.

This same exact problem happens with me. Now something that I have noticed is that it ONLY happens when I play Advanced Warfare. I have played other games for 8+hours as well and used apps for 10+hours straight with no problems, the moment I play advanced
warfare it'll happen 10-20 minutes in, and yeah having to fully reset the console is so frustrating.

And so far you have found nothing that eliminates the problem? I thought it might have something to do with AW, because my friends told me there haven't been any problems playing other titles. I just don't have the ability or real desire to test it on
anything for an extended period of time.

This is still a main issue. If you lose connection to your controller or your play and charge kit chord shifts alittle you lose all functionality. It only happens in Cod AW.
