Xbox One controller disconnecting 2sec after connecting

Hi everyone, when I try to reconnect my Xbox One controller to my windows 10 PC through xbox wireless adapter, it connects for about 1-2 seconds, then it turns off. Until now I could use the play and charge kit usb cable to connect it wired but now it doesn't
seem to work, guess the wire's broken. Any help with connecting wirelessly?

Note: I said reconnect because it can connect once with no problem, but when I leave it for 5min it disconnects.

Same, just got an elite xbox one controller- it and a 2nd controller are just connecting and disconnecting. Even tried a 2nd cable.

What does it mean?

Have you tried changing the batteries?

 

Well, they are the batteries from the play and charge kit, and this happens with two different xbox one controllers, plus it works fine on the first connection, so I don't think the batteries are the problem.

 

To clarify, are you using the same set of batteries in both controllers? Have you tried using a fresh set of AA batteries and also tried moving the wireless adapter to a different USB port on the computer?

Sorry, switching to AA batteries did not fix it.

Having to restart the computer every time I go to the bathroom is very annoying. Any further help?

Saadly that site didn't help, but I finally found a solution:

My friend had the same problem, and the culprit is the couple Steam/Nvidia Share (from GeForce), so disabling one of the two worked for me.
