    Xbox one controller disconnected, and will not reconnect...


    I was in the middle of a live game when my controller disconnected. I reconnected via USB due to that was the only way the controller would sync with the xbox. When I did so, I was prompted to update the controller. After a few minutes of updating, an error
    message displayed something along the lines of "error while updating, please try again later." After that, the controller will only slow blink, even when I try to plug it into the xbox via USB. The sync button on the controller is totally unresponsive. IS
    MY CONTROLLER DONE FOR???

    Possible faulty controller, anyone else have this issue?

    I had big problems with the controller disconnecting over the weekend... It only happens now and again when playing on my own but was playing with a mate at the weekend and it happened about 7 or 8 times in the space of 2 hours playing Forza and Fifa.
    Comes up on the screen saying 'please reconnect controller', I look down and the controller is on so I press the guide button and it reconnects only to disconnect a moment later. This happened a few times and on one one occasion I had to turn the xbox off and back on again to get it working - absolute pain in the ass!

    Day One Controller Faulty?

    Yes day one pad, ive been offered a replacement console by Amazon but id have to download all my games etc again and I dont even know if that will fix it?

    We certainly arent the only ones suffering with it:

    is anyone having issues where the controllers are constantly disconnecting from the xbox one and then won't reconnect? We got this same console and the controllers disconnect every few days and to get them to reconnect we have to unplug the xbox for 20
    seconds then reconnect it. using the connect buttons on the controller/console does nothing for some reason (no issues like this on the regular xbox one we have). very disappointing.

    If updating the controller doesn't work, try disconnecting your controllers from the xbox then reconnecting it back up.
