Xbox One Controller disconnected after power down

i seem to be having a catalog of errors with my console for the last couple of months.

Firstly I had an issue where my console wouldn't recognize my external HDD (which still isn't if I use the rear USB) and now I seem to have an issue where my controller will disconnect after powering down the unit.

Once connected it will stay connected, however once I turn the console off the controller gets disconnected. Pressing the sync buttons doesn't seem to help either.

I've tried all the usual obvious things, new controller, turning off router and still no joy.

Both console and controller are up to date.

I have a second console in the bedroom and the controllers work fine on that one so i know its the unit that's at fault.

Should I consider a return ?

Xbox One Headset Mic Not Recognized

My Xbox One head set mic is not being recognized since the most recent update. The green ring around my GamerPic is not lighted. I can hear everyone in the party chat, but no one can hear me. Below is everything I've attempted. Respectfully request assistance
with further trouble shooting this issue.

Made sure headset was not muted and volume turned up

Checked orange LED light next to the Mute button

Power cycle controller: settings menu option and Xbox controller power button

Power cycle Xbox One console: restart and powered off

Disconnected and reconnected head set

Repeated power cycle for controller and console while head set disconnected and reconnected after powering up

Re-associated controller with my profile

Verified NAT type..OPEN

Reserved IP for console

Created port forwarding: Port: 53 (UDP & TCP); 80 (TCP); 88 (UDP); 500 (UDP); 3074 (UDP & TCP); 3544 (UDP); 4500 (UDP)

Tested headset via the following: started party, joined party, Skype Echo/Sound Test

Modem reset

Modem reset w/ power cycle: restart and powered off

MAC clear w/ power cycle: restart and powered off

Disconnected everything for 12 hours and then again for 24 hours

Replaced batteries in controller

Used USB card as power supply to controller

Purchased 3 new controllers w/ headsets

Updated all controllers

Controller "low power state"

I read through the different articles linked on that page and only found one mention of the controller shutting off. In the "Your Xbox Wireless Controller Shuts Down" article, it says that the controller is designed to shut down after 15 minutes to conserve
batteries. This isn't the low-power state I'm referring to. The old 360 controller did this.

Thank you for your post. I understand you are experiencing an issue finding wireless networks to connect your Xbox One X to and the controller continually disconnects shortly after being connected. To troubleshoot this, please perform a

power-cycle. This can be done by holding down the power button on the Xbox One X for 10 complete seconds while it is on. This will shut the console down completely, after the console is off press the power button again.

Please let us know how this goes.

Did you manage to find a solution for this? I have the exact same problem. Xbox support has asked me to have the console replaced under warranty. Will that make a difference?

Let's try powering down your Xbox One completely by holding down the power button 8-10 seconds. Once it's powered off, if the Xbox One is connected to a wired connection, disconnect it, then power it back while offline. If you're still having trouble after
that, let's try restoring to
Factory Settings.

Hi there,

if this is happening on a Xbox 360 console then please try the following.

Power the Xbox 360 down, wait until the light on console is off and wait another 30 seconds.

After that disconnect the console from power for at least 2 minutes.

These steps should make sure there is no cache etc left to cause weirdness.

After those 2 minutes reconnect the console to power and power the console on again by holding the Xbox Logo button on the controller.

These steps usually fix weird controller issues on the Xbox 360 console and controllers.

The numbers indicate the player number, so the first controller connected for 'player 1' then the light with the 1 next to it will be on, when a second controller is connected for the second player then the light with 2 will be on. It's to indicate what
controller is connected to which player.
