Xbox One Controller Design Lab - beware of shipping delays...

I can't find anyway to raise a complaint to Microsoft, therefore I thought I'd post this here to get it off my chest.

Last week, my kids showed me their controller design and said they would really like one for Xmas. Great I thought, it was now 13th December and the site says ships in 2-3 days so I went ahead and ordered for them.

Issue 1: I tried to pay with Paypal, but my payment was rejected due to a problem at Microsofts end. Annoyingly, I got two emails from Paypal, one saying we've collected your £139.99, and another saying it was being refunded.
The kicker, refunds take 5-7 days to process... So in a matter of a few seconds I'm down £140 for a week! How can they take but not give back at the same time - ridiculous.

Issue 2: I tried to pay with my Debit Card but that also failed (this is how I knew it was a MS issue), so I left it, but the next morning I got up and tried again and it went straight through. Great, the kids will be delighted. Yesterday (Monday 18th)
I received an email saying my package had been dispatched - all good so far - until I checked the tracking and it said it was in China and would not be delivered until 28th December. Argh! How can the below screen shot, at the order stage just before purchase,
say 2-3 Business Days. I appreciate it's close to Xmas, but to deliver on Friday 22nd would have been 5 clear business days (not including purchase and delivery dates).

So thanks Microsoft. The kids will be delighted with their present when it finally turns up...

Xbox design lab

Does the controller from the design lab come with bluetooth like the xbox one s and elite controllers or are they like the original xbox controller?

There are no offers that award the purchase of a Xbox Design Lab controller.

 

Shipping delays at Christmas? NO FREAKIN' WAY!

 

Actually, it only says it will ship in 2-3 working days. It does not say it will be delivered in 2-3 days.

Per the design lab FAQ - Please refer to your order confirmation email for the estimated delivery date. You will receive another email with the tracking number once your controller has been shipped.
You will receive your controller within 14 business days of placing your order.

 

140 notes for two controllers, I don`t think so. The cash cow gamer again?

Shipping delays - not really, just a lack of clarity on shipping schedules.

Ships in 2-3 days - honestly, as a consumer I do not receive value until my product arrives. Therefore if it ships in 10 minutes I can't give a monkey's, I want to know when it will arrive.

FAQ: I am buying a product, why should I read the FAQ's first? I should just get clear direction of when it will be delivered!

£140 - yeah, now that's a point I agree with, but if it makes the kids happy at Christmas what can you do!!

However, all this has had a happy ending. The controllers arrived yesterday morning, so 8 days between order and receipt which, given it's come from China is pretty damn impressive. Just a shame they were not upfront about this and managed my expectations.
I'm sure there will be two happy little kids come Xmas morning. Ta Ta.
