Xbox one controller dead

Hi there.

I bought an Xbox One controller to be used on my PC last October. It's still within warranty. Now my issue is that the controller has plain malfunctioned, it just died. Just like that. It wont turn on at all. Even if I insert batteries it wont light up or
anything.

The biggest problem came when I phoned Xbox support. The guy (Alex), he would not let me say a thing after I described my problem to him. It was like he was hell bent on just shutting me down. Anyways, here his response “Sir, this is an Xbox support line,
we only deal in Xbox related problems. You have an Xbox One controller but we cant help you unless you have it registered with a Xbox One console” I mean, its like saying, you cant get warranty service for your car battery unless you buy a new car?

I dont have an Xbox One console. I just bought the remote, not the console.

So does it mean I have to purchase a console to avail warranty support for my controller? He mentioned it is a new warranty policy. I bought it from Amazon, they redirected me to the seller, CloudTail. It has been months and they still dont reply to my mails.
I mentioned to Amazon and CloudTail about the warranty policy of Xbox. Maybe even they think its beyond them to help me out.

I love Xbox is have the 360 and totally enjoyed it. Had issues with 360 and xbox support was helpful. But this supposedly new policy is just baffling and beyond logic.

FPS gamers, what is the average life span of your analog sticks?

Bought several Xbox 360 controller (after a while all got a "dead zone problem",character/camera moving by itself).

So far,only got one Xbox one controller.

I completely agree. I notice this on Shadow of Mordor (Windows 7 64-bit). It's an excessive amount of dead zone. I also compared this with my xbox 360 controller. The dead zone on the xbox 360 is smaller (better) than on the xbox one controller. And the
360 controller I tested is brand new (less than one hour of use).

Also, I can register my xbox one controller under "register" device for some reason. At first it would say the serial number is wrong. Which is correct because the text box would not accept the last 2 digits, meaning the serial number on the controller was
longer (having more characters) than the text box could accept. Secondly, the web page just crashes when I hit the register device button after entering the partial serial number. odd.
