  1. Xbox One Controller Dead after failed update via USB Cable

I was updating my xbox day one controller and the usb cable became disconnected while updating and now the controller will not power on and the xbox does not recognize the controller when it is plugged in via the usb cable. Yes the battery is good and no
tech support couldn't help. They refused to cover the controller since it was past the 90 day warranty period and said I needed to purchase a new controller.

    :)

    DESPERATE for help !

for anyone with controller issues, this popped up in tonight's preview update.
A fix to address an issue for users who find their controller will no longer connect via a wireless connection, and only works over USB. If this has occurred to you, after taking this system update, you will be able to connect your controller via a USB cable and wait a few seconds before unplugging it. This will recover your controller and you will be able to connect wirelessly. It is expected that subsequent controller firmware updates will fail. This will be addressed in a later system update.

  3. Audio & Chat won't work together

    Hello AdroiTWOZ,

I was wandering have you tried to update the xbox one controller and does this issue still occur? If you have not tried to update the controller the steps are here to follow.

Before trying these updates be sure the controller has the stereo adapter connected.

    Wirelss Update
    HERE
    - An Xbox One Wireless Controller purchased in or after June 2015 can take updates wirelessly without connecting via USB cable. This controller has a small, circular 3.5-mm port on the bottom of the controller; controllers without this port must update
    via USB cable.

    Wired Update
    HERE
    - Follow these steps to update your controller via USB and to support the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter:

If any trouble shoot issue are need they can be found
    HERE.
Let us know if you all ready tried these steps?

  4. Xbox One Controller Dead after failed update via USB Cable

Fixed by unplugging the battery pack and leaving it out while plugging the controller in via the usb cable. Wait a couple of minutes and it turned on like magic.

  6. I've spent roughly 5 hours in regard to this issue online with XBOX support.

Basically... I was playing The Division, and my controller that I was playing with stated that it needed to be updated. At the time I decided not to update it, it worked, but the sound was off with my headset. I continued to play.

When I was done, I plugged it in to the USB port, and selected the update. I went upstairs, was getting ready to go to bed, came back down, and it was at 57% so I left it on over night.

The next day I got up, and it was still at 57%. I went to work, came home, and it was still at 57%. I decided to turn the XBOX off after googling and finding another forum that stated unplugging the XBOX and plugging it back in should force it to work.

It didn't. I kept googling, and pushed the power button for roughly 10 seconds. I left it off awhile, turned it back on, and the controller is still unresponsive.

I pulled the batteries out, plugged it in to the USB port, and still unresponsive.

Nothing has worked. The controller was working before the update failed, and several hours later, several support chats, and I was told that I have to buy a new controller. XBOX Support will not recognize that this is a system wide problem, that it is affecting
several people, and several controllers are literally being "BRICKED" to the point where they are now worthless paper weights.

XBOX Support has numerous forums in regard to this issue that are also currently being shut down. Fellow gamers... I think it's time for a class action lawsuit since Microsoft and XBOX refuse to acknowledge the problem.

Keep in mind... My controller was working before the update with the exception that my headset sound was off a bit. Now the controller is unresponsive, none of the buttons work, and plugging it in to the XBOX or a PC does nothing. It is completely unrecognizable
    and unresponsive.
