  1. Xbox one controller cuts out/disconnects

I had a Day One as well. Never had a problem with it until late June after I bought the stereo headset and updated the controller. For the last 3-4 weeks I used a long mini USB cable and played wired like the old day's lol. However last Friday I decided
to try and see if maybe by some miracle it would start working like normal. And it wouldn't even connect at all, unless I placed the controller a couple inches from the console. As soon as I would move the controller, it disconnected. The next day, my console
started having issues connecting to wifi, I would have to go through setting up a connection 2-3 time before it would work. So I too think it may have to be an issue with the wifi in the console. Anyway I decided to exchange mine out, got my new one in on
Wednesday and so far all is working perfectly like it did when I first got it in November!

Can everyone complaining and with issues make a stand and contact some Xbox magazines or online and point them in the direction of this thread?

This thread needs to be heard or tweeted about

  3. I'm having the exact same issue. It can happen several times in an hour, or not happen for days. Like someone else said, it seems mire reliable if the controller is pointed towards the console, or rather, kinect. Does the controller have to be constantly
    picked up by kinect?

Day one console here as well and sending it back would be a hassle I could do without

    Xbox one controller cuts out/disconnects

Well, having had my Day One Console replaced, as well as recently the included Headset; it's now my controllers turn for a replacement. My right-stick just all of a sudden started registering a forward push, even though the stick is in neutral position.
The stick isn't jammed forward or anything, it comes back to the resting position as normal. It also registers an actual forward push as well. However, after pressing any other direction, it always activates a forward push on its own once back at neutral.
This really screws with shooter games, as the camera is constantly trying to go skyward if it doesn't receive input in the other directions. Aim is quite impossible. It also sucks for fighting games (killer instinct), as it constantly activates Hard Punch
and Hard Kick, which disables the usage of the actual Right Bumper/Right Trigger buttons, as they are already registering as being pressed.

After getting this exchange, the only Day One items I will have, will be the Kinect, and the cables. Seeing how everything else is crapping out, I REALLY hope my Kinect decides to go bad before my warranty runs out. Even though it is a piece of equipment
that literally never moves, I am still expecting it to go south soon.

  5. so basically the issue lies with the Day one edition things ..... thats awesome!

i have not had issues with my replacement non day one console and controllers which I am really enjoying! I would say raise it with xbox again and make them aware that its the day one console issue but these threads are not even being monitored despite several
of us raising it further and there being a promise someone will look into it.

    It really is not on.

I called Xbox support and they walked me through the normal routine. But it did actually work from last Friday until tonight.

I'd say over the course of the 5 days I probably logged in about 15 hrs of playing games and watching apps on my xbox without an issue.

They had me go to settings, go into bluray/disc drive select persistent storage and clear it. The xbox contact mentioned this was like clearing your system cache. Next, to go to network, mac address, advanced setting, and select clear mac address. Once
this is completed your system should automatically restart.

Not sure why this would correct the controller issue, but whenever my controller blinks it seems to unsync and probably has something to do with the wifi port. This corrected it for a decent period of time, so I'm hoping doing this again tonight will correct
    the issue again.

I have a feeling this may not be a hardware issue, but a combination of software, cloud data, and hardware not communicating correctly.

I have a similar problem, my controller works fine for hours on end, as long as the xbox can see or is in direct line of sight of the controller. I have a big pine bed with a massive foot board, so if i'm sat back the controller keeps disconnecting, if i'm
sat in front of the xbox it works fine until i get comfortable and put my knee up cutting off the visibility between both of them. I have since discovered that inside the controller (you can check with your phone's camera to save taking apart) is an infared
sensor used for kinect, i think this may be my issue, but not sure how to fix aside from putting my xbox on the ceiling

  9. I honestly don't believe the people who say they fixed the issue. I think this is a fundamental flaw in the hardware/wireless protocol of the XB1. Microsoft should be ashamed.

Wow I thought I was the only one having this issue. I've contacted MS several times, I've done of all the troubleshooting steps and the problem continues. I tried using regular and rechargeable AA batteries I even went out and bought a new plug and play
kit, It still kept disconnecting. So I finally took it back to The Geek Squad at Best Buy. In order to avoid losing and having to replace my 2yr warranty, we decided to just ship it to MS. I was told they will test it and if it couldn't be fixed they would
send me a new one. So hopefully they'll just send me a replacement console and a controller. I will definitely keep you guys posted as soon as I get it back. Hopefully I'll have good news.

I don't understand how is possible that MS don't fixed this issue after 9 months

    Hey everyone,

I'm truly sorry to hear about the issues being experienced. I can certainly see how this could be frustrating. If you haven't already, please check out Misses Joust verified post and try out the troubleshooting steps she offered. If those steps don’t seem
to do the trick, please create a new thread indicating what you're experiencing along with the follow information (provided by Misses Joust):

    • What exactly is happening with your controller? Disconnecting, won't connect, shutting down? Tell us what's going on and how frequently.
    • Does it happen during a specific activity? If the issue only crops up while playing a certain game or app, include that in your post.
    • Does it happen with multiple controllers? If you have a second controller or if you can borrow one, try it on your console and see if it behaves the same way.
    • What have you tried so far? Please be specific and list the steps you've done.
Creating a new thread can ensure that we can cater our support specifically to each of you!

    Thanks!

Are there any solutions to this issue yet? It seems that after the July update, and controller firmware update, I've started having this issue. The controller will constantly disconnect after 15-20 mins without fail. I've been fine until the last updates.
It's getting ridiculous after a month or so of this issue.

    Any solutions yet?
