XBox One Controller connection requires reboot

    Hey folks,

I have my Xbox power settings to minimal when off, so that I can wake it up with the controller. I can't seem to do this anymore.

Also, if I turn on the Xbox first and then try to connect the controller, both just pulse. If I try the manual connection on both, they can't seem to find each other. The only way I can get things to connect is if I unplug the Xbox and turn it on, then the
    controller connects with no issues.

I checked for updated firmware and replaced the batteries, but no luck. This seems to be happening on all of my Xbox controllers.

    Thanks!

    :)

Was it the official Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller? For the Xbox 360 wireless controller, an adapter is required. For Xbox One, the original Xbox One controller will only work when wired. For the One S controller, you can connect it via bluetooth.

XBox One and BT Home Hub 5

Not really had chance use my Xbox in last few months with birth of baby, but upset stomach and wife and baby being out for day has seen me give it a go

However I can no longer seem to be able to connect to my network via a wired connection
Before BT, I was with Sky, and my Xbox One connected to a 8 port giga switch which in turn connected to my router and all was fine

Now, with the switch now connecting to the home hub 5, I cant get a wired connection

Any idea why this would be ?

I have tried, rebooting switch, rebooting (hard reboot) xbox one and rebooting the home plug

Xbox one Controller identified as Bluetooth LE Xinput Device

I have the same problem. I calmly played through bluetooth until I connected it by wire and updated the gamepad firmware. Now through bluetooth is not defined as a xbox one controller (xbox accessories see it correctly). The solution with installing the required driver on top does not work, since a reboot is required (nothing works without it), and after a reboot, the driver returns to its place. And again, nothing is determined. Has anyone found a solution? Yes, all the latest updates for Windows 10 and the controller are installed.

    Headsets wired

I think most wired headsets are required to connect to the controller on xbox one

can i use the usb cable to play? can the controller be damaged?

    Hey Vincent,

Yes, you can use the controller while connected to the console using usb cable. This won’t affect performance and won’t damage the controller. Using the controller wired of course means you don’t need to use batteries.

You can also update the controller while connected through USB cable.

Standard xbox one controllers require a micro USB cable. The elite series 2 and xbox adaptive controllers require USB type C cable.

XBox wireless controller on Windows 10 Pro won't bluetooth

    Hi there,

Yes, that update is a requirement.

Please see this link for steps and that the update is required to connect a Xbox One controller to the Windows 10 PC.

It shows how to connect by wire, wireless adapter and via bluetooth.

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-on-windows/accessories/connect-xbox-one-controller-to-pc

If also has a link with troubleshooting steps if connection fails.

    https://support.xbox.com/xbox-on-wi...bleshoot-xbox-one-bluetooth-issues-windows-10

Side note: Not all Xbox One controllers support bluetooth, the first (older) models do not, see the second link on how to determine if you have a controller that supports it or not.

    Let us know the results

(windows 10) Xbox One controller on PC games shows wrong button layout, it shows while gaming PRESS Button 1, Button 2 etc. instead of A, B, X, Y.

What is the name of controller app on pc? I think Xbox One controller does not require any app on Windows 10 to get connected or to play games.
