    Xbox One Controller Connected But Not Responding


    Every time I get on my Xbox One, my controller will be paired and fine. Then I get to playing a game. A few minutes in, my controller stops working. The game is still running, just my controller won’t let me play. The home button light is still on but when
    I click the buttons, nothing happens. Nothing works but when I restart my xbox/unplug it and plug it back in (even after that, it will still “Disconnect” mid-game. Or if it works for hours on end, any time i turn of my xbox one and turn it back on, it stops
    working again.) I have tried two different controllers and even used a USB to see if it had updates (which it didn’t) or to just play wired up. It didn’t work and it still became unresponsive!!! I’m wondering if I need to buy a new Xbox One. I have also factory
    reset it, unplugged it, held the power button for 10 seconds, etc. I don’t know how to fix it and it seems hopeless. Right now is definitely the worse time for this to be happening and I reckon sending it in for repair would take a lot longer then usual.

    Connect the controller to a PC via USB cable and verify that it is up to date in the "Xbox Accessories" app. Once you verify that it is up to date try to perform a cache clear with the following steps.

    1. Press and hold the Power button on the front of your Xbox until the console turns off.

    2. Unplug the power cord from the back of your Xbox.

    3. Wait a minute, and then plug the power cord back in.

    4. Press the Power button on your Xbox to turn it back on.

    5. Your cache should be clear at this point.

    Try to link both devices again by pressing the pairing buttons of both devices at the same time.

    You should try using the controller on a different device, as a mobile phone, then try to link it to the console again

    You should also do this

    Turn off the Xbox console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.

    Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

    Plug the console power cable back in.

    Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox

    If nothing works follow these steps to request the service:

    Sign in to the Device service and repair page with your Microsoft account credentials.

    ****If your device doesn't appear, add it

    Select the device that you want repaired.

    Follow the onscreen steps to complete your service order request.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

    I apologize but if this is happening with multiple consoles this may mean that the issue is with the controller itself and you may have performed all the necessary steps.

    One last test, do you have a different controller that you can try to use?
