Xbox One Controller - connect to 2 machines

Hi All...new to the Xbox family. Quick question around the Xbox one controller being multipoint or not. Main reason of asking this is I play some simple games on my windows 10 laptop via Xbox live streaming. The main Xbox is downstairs and the bedroom upstairs.
While streaming works effortlessly on the laptop and Xbox are in the same room (controller synced to Xbox), the controller does not control the game when I am upstairs.

So can the same controller be used across the Xbox and Pc seamlessly or do I need to invest in 2 separate controllers.

Use Xbox 360 headset with Xbox One and chat

Figured this out last night! 1) Connect hdmi cable from Xbox 360 to Xbox One hdmi in port. Connect Xbox one hdmi out port to the tv. 2) With your Xbox 360 headset connected to your TVs audio out port (via RCA or digital audio), turn on Xbox 360 and Xbox
One 3) On the Xbox One, launch the tv app (skip setup for the guide). 4) Using your Xbox 360 controller, start a chat party and invite friend/s 5) Make sure your Xbox 360 controller stays on 6) On Xbox One controller, press the home button and then do whatever
you want Your basically using your Xbox 360 as a chat machine. Haha Worked for me and my buddy!

The specific performance is, when the user uses the controller to boot, the machine may start normally, but the controller's X key has been flashing, cannot connect with the host. Unless you remove the controller's battery and put it back again.

Try reset host, replace another controller, can not solve the problem.

 

Yes but a couple of conditions.... If the controller is one of the newer xbox one S type controllers what is wireless for window it will connect via bluetooth to a windows laptop. If not you will need to get controller adaptor for windows but it might
be easier to get a new controller what works with windows. The other thing will be you might have to sync to the different device when you want to use it.
