Xbox One controller compatibility.

I think Xbox one controllers should be compatible with the Xbox 360. They're basically identical, so why not?

Thanks for posting, by design the Xbox One Controller is meant to output Xbox One Audio only. For more information about the Xbox One controller and it's 3.5mm jack check out this article:

Xbox 360 controller

if you have a wired 360 controller or a wireless receiver you should be able to.

also you may use an xbox one controller as well

You can use them interchangeablely on the PC, so there wouldn't seem to be a hardware reason behind it. Microsoft just don't want you to use the new controllers on the old machine.

aren't the new controllers networked and the old controllers aren't which is the main reason i think.

I recommend trying the following articles:

If the problem persists:

Try your Headset on another controller, if you can. If the headset works on the second controller, try
updating the first controlleragain. If that fails, the controller will
need to be replaced.
Try using a Headset Adapter for compatibility issues.
