Xbox One Controller "Clicking"/Loose Panels?

The controller cannot be registered on its own. It will have been registered as part of the unit though. Simply click the link that DangerousBard supplied and then select Replace Accessory and follow the instructions provided.

You should register your controller and ask for a repair:

After going through about (im not kidding) 60-70 controllers here is a list of what problems I have noticed.

-Uneven panels

-Panels coming off

-Sharp edges where the panels meet

-"Start" and "Select button needs to be pushed hard to get it to register

-Friction in the triggers

-Face panel of controller moving position

-A,B,X,Y buttons making loud clicking noise

-A,B,X,Y buttons sticking

-Loose bumpers

-bumpers not clicking/registering

-"X" middle button not register/has dead spots

-Thumb sticks altering position/making clicking noise/not anchored to controller

I have to agree that the controller quality is horrible, I have tried to contact xbox via here and phone/chat and no one is helpful. I sent out my day one controller (at my expense) but they just kept sending me out defective products until the warranty
went out. So I went out today and bought a PS4. Never gonna buy anything from Microsoft again.

I have my own post regarding the controllers. Mine works fine mechanically, but the panels just feel really loose and cheap. Probably something to do with the screw less design. The right grip of the controller clicks when I grip it and the left side is
all loose. I popped the panels off and found that the left side is just an issue with the entire controller, it's simply coming apart. Not that any of these panels are important, the guts of the controller are unreachable. The panels can be popped off and
painted, or whatever. I've already been around and around with service for a while regarding the build quality. They've offered me a free replacement, but I have to send my controller in first. This conflicts with things I've read on here about people getting
their controllers first, and sending their old ones in and getting an advance replacement with a charge held on their account. If the controller is still physically working, I can't see why I would send it in and wait ten days without being able to game. That'd
suck.

But yes. The build quality on the controller is shoddy. I've never had a controller break on me in 20 years of gaming, but this will be the first.

I like the xbox one controller, but really wish they would have used screws and less cheaper feeling plastic. After awhile those side panels start creaking and it gets pretty annoying after awhile. Also, after buying an after market xbox one controller with
360 tension joysticks, the originals are way too loose. Other than that I like it better than the 360.
