    How can i check the firmware version of my xbox one controller.

    Also is there a website that lists the firmware versions of the controller and has release notes, like there is for the xbox one console.

    Controller bricked after firmware update

    Xbox Accessories app (Version 100.1512.2007) has been released to the Store. Please check if an update is available for your machine.

    This version contains a fix to allow users to finish firmware update on a Xbox One controller that enters a bad state during regular firmware update (DFU Mode).

    I would check your firmware version because the version I have is a lot higher than the one you have, 4.8.1923.0.. Update
    XBox one controller     with the uSB method.

    What Windows version is running on your Surface Pro?

    For Bluetooth connections to a Xbox One controller you need at least Windows 10 Version 1709 (better would be 1809).

    You can check the Windows version by typing "Windowskey + R" and starting "winver".

    Also make sure your controller has the most up-to-date firmware. Connect the controller via a Micro USB cable, and use the Xbox Accessories App to check for the controller firmware.
