Xbox one controller button functons

Every game has its own mapping of the buttons. You can check in the settings of the game to see what button does what.

Thank you for your time and answer. I was so aggravated from frustration of setting up my Xbox One( purchased used from friend), w/o manual.( thru trial and error ),that I didn't even think of looking in the Settings ( Duhhh moment for me). Thank you

I have used a Xbox 360 system for years. (But it came with user manual)And had no problems using and understanding how to use the 360 controller. BUTT I have went to many different web sites on the pretense of being able to download free user manual
for my Xbox One .But i get to the "supposedly free download user manual web site to see every download for all Xbox manuals, etc. ,on it but mine. Which is Model 1540.

Not really. On the console they would simply do nothing or be mapped to a button that the game utilizes. On pc playing something like rocket league is great on a controller however there are game functons that remain unmapped due to lack of controller
buttons. No its not a replacement for a keyboard but meant to be high end gaming equipment whether you are on pc or console. These features would greatly help the sales of this equipment and help further Microsoft endeavors into pc gaming space and cross compatibility
